O.T. but does anyone else feel that the build quality of the iPhone 3GS is nowhere near as good as the previous models?

Can I Jailbreak 4.0.1 with RedSn0w ?

Finally managed to get the phone to sync and update. Things are looking up. Was just wondering if I can jailbreak the 4.0.1 software to unlock a few more features.

At last!! So....is the phone's reception better now?

*Don't think there is a jailbreak for iOS 4.0.1 yet....if you're lucky 4.0 might work, but don't quote me on that.

Hey..

Got an issue that just developed..

My ''Camera Roll'' folder is not showing any pic previews.. its just this big black sqaure.. if I tap anywhere on the screen it bring whatever pic up that was there in that space?

Any ideas?

PS.. the other ''Photo Library'' folder and all my synced folders are fine.. showing normal thumbnail previews

Thoughts I just replied but it didn't post so if this is a double (repeat post) sorry.
I had something similar with ONLY the pics I saved from messages received into my Camera Roll folder. Has not exactly corrected itself but also have not lost the pics so I guess
I just went on to other challenges. Like trying to make Pandora work thru the phone. Anyone successful with that? Oops sorry to hijack your question. I could benefit from an answer
to your question though too so if anyone knows about the disappearing pic previews ...

The issues I have are "death rattle" (loose volume control button, and right hand side of screen, the chrome bevel is raised (or glass sunk) by 1mm, just enough to catch you finger nail when sliding off the screen. Other than those issues, it's a great phone. Not going to worry about swopping it out as it adds character :)

Cut your nails - problem solved.....:D

Foxconn QC sounds like it.

I have an iphone 3gs , carrier locked. Its currently on 3.1.3 and jailbroken with blackrain. I want to udate it to os 4.01 and then jailbreak using the new jailbreakme.com site via safari. If i understan right i have to update via itunes, but as far as the activation goes? how would i bypass this? or does itunes only ask for activation if i restore? once the software is activated i can go to the wi-fi and the jailbreak, then use ultrasnow to unlock, right ?

Please help..

Thank reynhart

Hi guys. Epic epic epic thread this, so very useful, especially in a South African context. The only problem is that its hard to find some info. I am specifically trying to find out how to enable push on my jailbroken iPhone 3G iOS 3.1.2. I have read about a few options (pushdoctor and pushfix) but do any of them work in SA? Also, I am with virgin mobile (epic suck, will get iPhone 4 from voda next year). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since restoring my iphone to factory default settings and upgrading to OS4 on my 3GS, my airtime is getting chewed. My email is not on. Anyone know what else could be chewing my airtime?

I know people are going to flame me for asking this, but why is it so hard for someone to design some sort of work around for getting BBM on iPhone? I get it that iPhone's don't have PINs and won't be recognized by the BIS and BES servers, but I can think of a WORK AROUND (i.e. not necessarily a BBM client for iPhone!) which I would imagine would be able to get around any app store restrictions.

Surely an app could be designed for BlackBerry that copies all messages received in BBM and forwards them to an iPhone using another app supported by both (e.g. WhatsApp). The iPhone than replies to the BlackBerry and the BlackBerry passes the message back on to the BBM contact.

I know this is tedious and would require one to own two phones, but the advantage is all you'd have to do is make sure your BlackBerry is left plugged in charging somewhere and has a BIS service. Then you'd just go about your life, effectively with 'BBM' on the iPhone.

Someone design it like this. Now. NOW. It's the only thing I miss about a BlackBerry :p.

You won't get the free internet of a Blackberry but you can get a BBM app for cheaper messaging.

Sad... Just get "Whatsapp" and get everyone with WhackBerrys to get it too (free for whackberrys)
