OK do yourself a favour and read through the 5 previous pages of this thread and you will find all the information you need...

Just to give you some help:

- GPRS - Go to settings, network, EDGE, APN, and set it as "internet" without the quotation marks. Your GPRS should work now ;)

- To get SwirlyMMS working: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=1478054&postcount=30

- SMSD you will find on installer

- CallerID is on installer... you have to go to sources, click edit, add, type in http://installer.iclarified.com and wait for it to refresh... (detaield instructions here http://www.iclarified.com/entry/comments.php?enid=636#commentsanchor)

Then go to the Install section, go to the iClarified category and select the Appsupport Patch (1.1x) where x is your firmware version..

Like so http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=741

- To view recieved MMS's, refer to the end of the following post
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=1590336&postcount=98

Obviously do not take note of those settings as you are not on MTN, but the instructions after the red text..

Good luck ;)

Thanks,

i did read the other pages, im just stupid:(

got it all working now:)

iphone works well:D

ITS BEEN PWNED!!!!! | Release of PwnageTool OSX + Windows (coming soon)

We have been talking about PwnageTool for what seems like ages now. It is finally here! The Dev Team has done an amazing job and released this tool allowing a safer jailbreak for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. We recommend you switch to this method for freeing your Device.

OSX Version Features:
iPwner - Pwns your iPhone, the safer jailbreak
IPSW Builder - Lets you create custom firmware to load to you pwnd phone including unlocking, neutering, custom pictures, activation, and bootloade upgrade/downgrade.
Bootneuter: A neutered bootloader survives iTunes updates, even updates to 1.2.0 (aka 2.0). Unlike unlocking which requires a new patch for each firmware version, you only need to neuter once.

Instructions for 2.0 Beta

More help needed

hi all. Thanks for all the help so far. Need some more help please. I have 2 problems:
1) firstly on my iphone- my sms' dont make a sound when received. I have checked all the settings, but cant find any reason. It seems to have happened after I installed Summerboard and Ringtones. Uninstalled Summerboard incase, but no luck. Any ideas.
2) my husband bought his iphone from a friend who upgraded to the 16g, the friend upgraded to 1.1.4, not sure with what program. He has nothing on it, but it shows available space 278mb, when connected to itunes, it shows 7gb other. How do we fix this? Redo with Ziphone or one of th others? And how do i download the firmware upgrade to my pc? Thx

1 - is it only your sms's that dont make a sound or ringtones as well? did your phone go on auto lock while you were installing anything? this sometimes stuffs everything up, especially when it comes to things that change settings on your phone. try a soft reset, if that doesnt work, restore.

2 - definately needs to be restored.

- download iLiberty+ (if your on windows, iLiberty for Mac) install it
- restore your iphone in itunes. it will most probably need to download 1.1.4 from apple (about 162mb) once its downloaded it the restore will start
- once it has been restored it should say something about your sim not being valid or not activated etc...
- close itunes, disconnect your iphone and reconnect it (make sure that itunes isnt set to open when the phone is connected)
- run iLiberty and select what you want done and click on "go for it"

hope this helps =)

Thanks. Re 1 - just my sms. I think it did autolock. How do I do a soft reset?

And re 2 - can I use ziphone? As I used it do mine, and am rather nervous using something else. Or is iLiberty easier?

Thx again

Oh, and can I download that file? Our Telkom is down (thank you cable thieves) so would prefer if I can download it to the pc and have it, seein as I might have to do both phones. Thx again

to do a soft reset press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for a few seconds until it restarts.

i used ziphone once and it bricked my iphone on 1.1.2, so im not a fan. iLiberty has never given me any problems and a lot of other forums also suggest using iLiberty rather than any other software so its probably the best. its 24mb.
heres a link that links you to the firmware files
http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750
to restore your iphone after downloading from the above links, hold shift in when you click on restore, this will allow you to browse for the firmware files on your pc

If you use a mac use pwnage rather to unlock, I used it and I can restore (pwnd firmwares) in iTunes without locking my iPhone now.

thanks very much. Tried the soft reset, no luck. Will have to download and restore. As a matter of interest, could you save your phone after it bricked up. Will be good to know if this ever does happen. Oh, and I'm on Windows. Thx again for the help

ya, managed to save it but it was a mission and i NEVER want to go through that again.
i dont know if its easier now to unbrick an iphone, but back in january it wasnt exactly like changing a globe...

Oops, that doesnt sound like too much fun, but good to know we have someone with experience to help if it ever happens. Thx for the advice. Will take the laptop to a coffe shop and go download the files if wifi, 3g way to unstable. Thx again
