i think at the launch and just for the launch people will get an amazing deal on the iphone for just being there ... just my two cents ... like what they do on their birthday ... so maybe i will stay up and go see ...

I dont think you gonna pay so much. Maybe R3000 maximum 9and im quoting the highest price i can possibly work out).

I don't believe that Vodacom will turn away all of their existing clients by saying you can't upgrade/renew your contract to get the phone.

I would certainly hate to go there (if I do) and come home without the iPhone. What a waste that would be.

My upgrade has been due since may this year. Ive been waiting just to see how much it will cost. Ive got an E71 at the moment. If its too much to pay then ill wait for the nokia 5800. But what ill do is post all the specials and prices on the iphone 3g once we get it.

So after calling loadsa places. I finally found a store that would give me the price. Dion wired. They claim to be offering it on prepaid only.

Prices:
8GB- 6499
16GB-7499 (White will most probably be available)

Will repost at 5 to let you know if white is ganna be here....

My one little pet peeve is that we who live out in the apparent sticks (Secunda) will probably only see it in a month’s time. Scary bit of info: I just called 082 1959, and the guy (Christian) informed me that although the launch is tonight, they do not actually have stock, so we will have to wait for that to arrive. That sort of implies that while they might have a very limited few for the launch tonight, the rest of us plebs will have to wait. At least we should know the price, by tomorrow. That is some consolation.

Call Dion wired in centurion. Ask them to put you through to Cell phone section and ask;) Its a reasonable price and i think they ganna sell alot. Contract must cover the price of the phone so.... R249PM? With a cash pay in. They are coming on completely new packages.

i heard that south africa cellphone providers are not allowed to lock their phones anymore. Is this true?
