Please remember that this has not been proven yet - and apparently it will only apply to first gen iPhones, not the 3G. Lets not make too much of it yet until everything is official.

Hence me saying if it is true... Im sure I can walk into Vodacom and say...

"hmmm My phone seems locked, can you unlock it?"

Lol... they aren't the brightest bunch so my overseas iPhone 3G's might get a nice software unlock without them even knowing it

What I would like to know is:
Will the VodaShops have stock of these and will their price be the same as: Dion Wired for example....

I was just called by a store, not Vodacom, I have a contact there. He said that is the price for the 16 gig and I can pick up tomorrow.

And then a larger part of me is saying "chill. Nice to have one of the first, but wtf, just wait a few days, and in a month or so every Tom Dick and Harry will have one, and it will be wasted energy"
We all want new gadgets, and want them now. But really, what difference does it make? It's not a competition. I hate the fact that we all fall for this overblown hype. The phone still has lots of shortcomings, but does seem quite nice. However if you get it now, or a month..makes no difference.
There will be more, and more.... and more. And the price will come down.

I think I will chill..see what tomorrow brings in the way of pricing, and try not to fall for all the hype. They can charge what they like, and we will still fall for it.
Nah...I'm gonna wait a bit. In a month, no-one will care when you got it, and everyone will have it.

Let's see the prices. Btw...Nashua won't have them for quite a while, they confirmed that for me earlier today.

Ye it has a few things missin. Like MMS and Mxit. But hey dude, its an Apple. Ask anyone, would you rather have a iPod or JNC Mp3 playa? Im sure you know what they would choose. It is a fashion statement to have one, and if you dont, well, im sorry to say no matter what your phone dose that the iPhone dosnt, The iPhone still overall kicks its ass.
