Ha ha I suppose you can expect the responses I got in a iPhone fan boys thread! :)

I have read much on the internet and am yet to see why the iPhone is so cutting edge. I also spend a lot of time on gsmarena and am yet to read any review which does a comparison to the iPhone. Perhaps I am not hanging out in the right places?

I have read a lot of phone reviews on GSMarena that always somehow end up mentioning the iPhone, its a standard to compare to.

Sure the camera is crap (very crap), and there have been software issues (quite a lot). But then again no other phone has multi-touch and the app store (US version of course).

anyway check out an interview with dot field, a bit silly but ja:

Htc diamond R389 cheaper than the iphone.

I have read many reviews of the HTC Diamond, though I think its industrial design is better than the iPhone, HTC should really dump the bloated fatty OS that is Windows Mobile.
I want iPhone software in a Diamond skin ;)

I have looked at the pricing, but nowhere does it mention what the pay-in would be on the iPhone 120s & iPhone 240s packages....any1 have an idea? As we expected the prices are expensive, but not a rip-off I would say. Eish, if only i could afford a 2nd contract!

i was there ... and drove away ... i dont believe paying R450 per month on a contract plus still pay in R2189 is cheap ... the prepaid price is R6389 ...

yes u get 120min in per second billing, 100 free sms, 250mb of data but what if i want just a normal contract not this new iphone contracts ... i am happy with a top up contract and i decide and dictate the voice and data i use ...

for me its not value for money ... sorry ... fanbois will buy this and think its a bargain ... lol

MTN's offer on the i900 Omnia is R319 per month, which includes R200 voice and data ... voice at per second billing ... and guess what no pay in on the phone ... you actually get an extra 8gig for free and a car cradle ... (so 16gig total) .... i mean comon Vodacom!!!! ... its called being competitive ...

if i do buy the iphone it will be on a prepaid option (but i dont want to pay R6389) .... unless they do decide to offer it on the normal contracts!!!

i mean on the iphone 500s contract with the phone subsidised in the contract you pay R1000 a month!!!!! ... i mean really now, you need to really loooooooooooove and have some serious shares in apple to pay this i think! ... at the end it is just a phone, it def aint replacing no PC, even just on the web browsing side of things is it better than a PC?? ...

Vodacom should have saved me the pain and just released the pricing before i drove and waited there ...

Wow...we're even giving India a run for there money on our prepaid pricing, last i checked they had the highest price globally! With the Dollar exchange at R8 we are paying $800 for the 8GB... thats almost a whole entry level macbook over in the states!
Vodacom really needs to bring their pricing inline with the rest of the world...

O2 in the uk recently launched their prepaid offering @ 349 pounds for the 8GB...that works out R5235...I really think R1200 more is really pushing it.. R5499 would have been reasonable for vodacom!

Guess Im importing then!

Dude pls tell me they had White 16GB'S? O and did they activate it there and then. And how many ppls wer there?

Only black at the moment.

Looking at the cars I expected more people than were there. Difficult to estimate. I managed to get almost to the front of the queue at the Vodashop and was one of the first to be helped, still took almost 30 mins to get out the shop!!
