Ok... well, so it took them almost three months, after saying they are getting it, to announce the price....

It is expensive... especially when you consider that they bought in bulk. The contracts are also ****ing crazy if you consider what you are getting.

I bought 5 more units after the announcement from Vodacom and I paid R5300 per unit...which prob means Vodacom is getting it at R3000 a pop... so if anyone is interested, you can get an iPhone 3G from me next week for R5700. Brand New sealed.

Well... It was good while it lasted... had my iphone for a year before it launched locally... guess I will sell it now and try out the G1 Android (Google Phone)

And no, I really did like the iPhone but now seeing every Tom D.i.c.k and harry with one kinda puts me off of it... especially because it will be a new thing for them and now they will have the urge to showcase it

You were charging like R8k for them before they launched, bitching and moaning how you only made R300.00 profit out of each unit and now that they've landed on VC's door you selling them at R5700.00.

ok guys... One guy cancelled his iPhone 3G so I have one available as of next week. Price is R6500 (cheaper due to new supplier). It's brand new, Sealed.

Ordered it and the guy got cold feet.

First one to pay the R1000 deposit gets it. If Vodacom actually launches the iPhone 3G while you are waiting for this one and the price is cheaper then you can get your deposit back. If you want to.

I charged what I charged because that is what I got them for. If that is impossible for you to comprehend then im sorry God didn't give you more common sense. When you buy a 2008 VW, do you pay the same price as a 2006 VW? Exactly... that is common sense.

How did I get it down to this price?

Simple. This is the third batch I am ordering from this supplier and he is charging me less on shipping and also less per item. I told him South Africa was launching it at the price of R6370 and I don't need to order anymore because I was paying almost what they cost here now... he then gave me discount so as to still sell to me. (note how I said in a previous post that I ordered after I got vodacom's prices) I can't help he made a killing off of me. He dropped his price because he didn't want to lose business. And also instead of charging me shipping per item which was $40 an iPhone he is charging me $40 for all of them. Which already is a saving of $160 = R1312. That is an extra R350 of each iPhone just from the shipping alone.

Im sorry if you can't comprehend how some ppl do business. Can I help that he charged me an arm and a leg? NO... Can I help that he was in the driving seat because there was a demand? NO... So please tell me why you are so obsessed with my product if your not even remotely interested in buying it? You are looking for attention.

I went "spastic" and "gay" because you made accusations without proof. You are doing it again now... I proved you wrong before and just did again. Saying im ripping ppl off is a big claim to make if you have no proof. Which is exactly what you lack...PROOF.

The iPhone I advertised for R6500 will now also be R5700. I am taking a loss on that one but I know I won't be able to sell it for R6500 because no one will buy it. I am losing R495 on it because I paid R6195 for it. That happens. I bought it before this batch so was still charged a high rate because Vodacom didn't announce the prices yet.

You mistake your feelings, of God knows what, for fact and assume im doing things that i am indeed not doing. It really is childish of you to go on a big spree of b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t when indeed you have NOTHING to back your claims up with... NOTHING.

So rather keep your opinion to yourself because you are just making yourself look like a tool again.

P.S - You accuse me of ripping people off yet fail to mention Vodacom... they buy in bulk, get their product ALOT cheaper than me and yet still charge that much. They are making at least R3000 off the iPhone alone not even mentioning the profit on their contracts. Yet here you are accusing me and not them... you work for them by any chance?

It's just too easy going for your price to drop in alignment and even be cheaper than that of VC at the time of their launch.

You're not moving anything remotely close in stock volumes to VC.
And yes - we know that the mobile operators of this country are ripping us off.
But to a degree that one person, with a total sale of 65 units can be more competitive than VC?
One wonders why you have not become a major player and opened your own chain of retail stores?
Or at least why you have not sold more than 65.

Now that I think of it - the only thing I went off on was that the iPhone is all hype and nothing to get overly excited about as their are other brands which compete with it, if not surpass it.

Price drop is easy to explain as I have done before... my supplier had two options, lose me as a customer or drop the price... he chose the latter.

I can be more competitive than VC because, like I also mentioned above, they are making a killing.

I do this as a hobby and the thrill of owning something before the general public. Why would I open my own store when I have a job that pays well enough? (Not ego trip, just stating the obvious) I have a masters degree so im working in that field.

Notice how I moved to the G1 android now? Not because I want to rip ppl off (as you like to claim) but purely because I am interested in the product and offering it here before any other big corporation does. That is the thrill I get. Not the money but knowing I can get stuff long before our own Giant Corps. You might see it as me trying to make a quick buck but that couldn't be further from the truth. I do it because I like the thrill and also to offer my fellow trendsetters the option of owning something before the general public has the option.

I did it with the Xbox 360, the PS3, the 8800GTX graphics cards, with the iPhone and now with the G1 Google phone. I got it before it was available and offered it to anyone that wanted it.

I don't force ppl to buy my stuff so why would I rip them off? It's easy... if you think Im a fraud then don't buy... simple hey?

My first price was R8500, the next shipment was R8000, the one after that was R7500. That is fact. You can even see it in this thread. That was a price drop of R1000 in 2 months. Now because of pressure from me on my supplier, because of Vodacom, it dropped again. I told him it's not worth my time and effort if he doesn't give me the best price possible. I was also shocked to see how much he was making off of me but I still respect him. At least he pulled through and now gave me possible the best price on ebay.

Anyway... Im over this topic.

I understand you might have your opinion and I respect that but in future please don't accuse me of being something im not. If you want to accuse me then please prove it. You would also feel insulted if you know in your heart that you are legit and someone just throws accusations your way.

I may have vented my shock and suprise to your current price a bit harshly, but it still just does seem odd to me.

Fact is people will buy from you and people won't.
There are some other things I'd like to look into, but that'll be for another time, if at all.
