had mine for about 2 weeks now, and I've had a 2G for the past year on MTN. I have to say that all the call dropping and call failure issues i had in the past have disappeared. Yesterday was the first time I had major issues though, dropped a call about 7 times in 10 mins (very annoying). Also, the phone seems to get a bit confused when switching from EDGE to 3G which sometimes results in a "No service" message, but fixes itself after a few seconds.

- All first generation iPhones and imported phones will now unlock in South Africa if officially updated through iTunes. This is what Vodacom has told us, but we have not tested it yet.

Anyone tried that yet?

Yes and no luck, US models are 0wned by AT&T and iTunes will not activate them without the AT&T sim this will require you to take out the AT&T contract. Whoever said that we could unlock it here was talking chicken****.

My price is R5700. The batch will be arriving next week Wed or Thurs.

So that's what, R600 saving for a loss of warranty and backup should the phone be faulty? Hmmm I wonder if anyone will be stupid enough...

Warranty covered by Apple. Can also get fixed at Vodacom for an upfront charge of R300. Stop being ignorant bud. Sending stuff overseas to be fixed isn't impossible anymore. I have sent back DOA and it took them 2 weeks to replace it. Which is alot quicker than Vodacom that took 6 weeks to get my Samsung fixed.

You are the stupid one here.

I doubt that VC will fix phones not imported by them under warranty. As for sending stuff overseas, no thanks.

Hold the personal comments, unless you want me to get personal with you.

LMAO for the post that follows :D

But I agree it's not officially unlocked so Apple could keep you locked on old firmware.

Hey there I bought by phone from you two weeks ago for 7500. Im not cross though, I got it before most people and the PT i've gone through to get it working has taught me alot. therefore 7500 (phone)+ 750 for piggy back = R8250 minus current VC price R6389 = R 1861.00 overspent ! well if you want something that is scarce then pay dammit.

BTW you owe me R50.00 Bucks

Hi.

Read the previous page for the reason of the price drop. And pm me your bank details so I can sort you out :)

R750 for piggy back is incorrect though. R300 is more accurate.

They have done so with my N95. I also confirmed with them a week ago. And you started the personal insults with saying someone must be stupid to buy my product...

And just because you don't send things overseas doesn't mean its not safe... so keep your skewed perception of international parcels to yourself please.

Well best you check with your sources, Vodacom will NOT be repairing iPhones they will be sent to Apple and Apple will NOT repair grey imports under warranty ;)
