But notice.... as soon as the ANC needs money CIT hiests pick up as if by magic..... they never stopped doing their original kind of fund raising.

Interesting statement to make, do you have any real facts to back up this claim?

Trollip, it is a blow for the DA. He was one of the very few members from the classical liberal faction of the DA that had a base extending racial lines.

Mphiti might soon join him.
He left the DA (and politics) a couple of years ago.

I am glad to see him back. I hope he is more mature this time around.

Interesting that Trollip and Mashaba are keen to work with the EFF, despite their experiences. Maybe they think they know them, the EFF, a bit better or will do a Zille / de Lille on them. In SA, who knows.

Possibly yes.

And yes, I'm making assumptions, but I would have thought Athol Trollip would try and avoid the cult status aspect and recruit for the DA rather than for Athol Trollip. He strikes me as a relatively mature politician who would try to avoid that cult following.

You missing the point.

Trollip is a mature and smart politician and one of the few in the DA who has a constituency, not even Steenhuisen has that. If Steenhuisen contested Mbali Ntuli for KZN leadership, he may have lost because Ntuli has a bigger provincial constituency though Steenhuisen is better known to their national leadership.

Trollip also has a presence about him and is good with communicating with people especially in the EC where he has spent his entire life. This is what will help Action SA, not that he's a cult leader.

Notice I keep mentioning the word "cult" in quotations marks....

Athol Trollip is a mature and smart politician and as such would be very keenly aware of build a personality "cult" of followers around him as that can get toxic and dangerous. Also you are referring to internal dynamics in the constituency aspect whereas I am talking about voters on the ground who may not be DA members.

He handled it very maturely. It was better he left as he and Helen Zille just can't stand each other and it would have led to more trouble if he had to work under her.

He was quiet during his sabbatical and did not engage in any back and forth on social media even though he quite evidently had his differences with the party.

Not sure Helen Zille would have handled it as maturely as he did had she ended up losing that Fed Ex race to him.

So the DA is going to do a reaction live-stream of SONA tomorrow? Weird lol

Will be funny if it's like Renaldo's ones where he just talks over and disagrees with everything that they say, lol.

I doubt many people are going to listen to Steenhuisen's "Real State of the Nation Address" because chances are he will just whine as he normally does so hopefully @6spdmanual can take one for the team and give us the breakdown in point form as he did for the Iqbal Surve YouTube series.

Well since its on YouTube, we'll be able to see accurately how many people tune into it.

I don't expect it to be many, but I also don't expect it to be a small audience either.

He doesn't seem to pull in that many views these days, especially considering he's got 100k+ subs.

He's very repetitive which is the biggest factor there, it's either fighting BEE or the woke left.

Cabanac focuses on different issues everyday which is why he gets a lot of views in the SA context.

Lmao. I can only do too much. Won’t be taking up this challenge.

So let's see how he handles ASA.
