As we know SA politics, ANC and looting goes hand in hand.

We have a template and an understanding of how boards operate in the private sector. That is governance by documentation, reports, practices and procedures. We don’t have the same rigour in the public sector, and it is made up as it goes along.

The Shadow President of the Republic has spoken.

There is an outside chance he could sneak in as President in 2024 especially if turnout is low and the ANC continues to self-implode. If it comes down to a coalition ousting the ANC, the EFF might just vote for him if it means they can destabilize the ANC but two years is still a long time in politics.

However, I think if it comes down to coalitions, ANC will most likely retain it with support of the PA and some other unofficial minority alliance partners like Al Jamaah (the Muslim extension of ANC) and PA (they are likely to not need to negotiate with the EFF right now). Gayton Mckenzie has more or less said he will go into coalition with anyone who gives him jobs and the ANC are more likely to offer him that right now than the DA.

Either him or Mashaba tbh. And I honestly can't see how the ANC will save itself in time for 2024...

Honestly depends on how many seats the PA get. The same goes for ASA.

DA tend to be control freaks in coalition agreements and they want the power.

DA would prefer ANC remaining in power than Mashaba being President.

Nah, I think DA would take the chance, either way.

I see Steenhuisen and Mashaba being President and Deputy President (or vice versa) in 2024, if everything goes well...

More like an ANC president and an EFF Deputy. Should the ANC get less than 50% they'll most likely go into bed with the EFF.

I would agree if it's RET ANC who's in charge after this year, but with Ramaphosa I don't think so...

I don't think it matters who is in charge, it will still be the ANC, or an coalition. 2029 might have a shot though, with 2024 giving hints of what might come. You can also expect a massive drive from the ANC after their LGE results.

Ahhh yes, the whites are being fragile, cause ya know, singing a song that is literally about killing white people isn't hateful at all. Nahhh, that's not hate speech... /s

The double standards when it comes to hate speech in this country is appalling, I hope AfriForum wins this case against the EFF...

EDIT:

Livestream link

why are they allowed to do that and not escorted out for disrupting the court

How is that going to happen with less than 25% of the national vote between the two parties?

You have much belief in the ANC I see.

With the way ASA is on a jumping start after last year's LGE and how quickly they've grown in terms of high-profile leadership and support, I definitely see them in the top 4 somewhere, I also think they will continue to siphon DA votes and also many ANC votes. DA, I think will be around 18 - 23% of the national vote. EFF will hang around 10%, maybe 9%?

ANC won't be able to save themselves or what they've destroyed in time for 2024. Regardless of what ANC faction wins end of the year. Guilt-tripping the poor with the past, bribing them with Checkers vouchers and the like are starting to become ineffective.

I doubt ANC will get the 55%+ they're used to, last year's LGE is proof of that, the people are gatvol... Maybe if they're lucky just 50% of the seats in Parly/national vote. IMO the votes that they will lose, will go to the opposition parties...

P.S This is all IMO

Dropped ANC votes aren't necessarily going to go to other parties. Voter apathy is a big factor. I reckon they'll be hovering above 50% in 2024.

I don't think they will go into bed with EFF just yet but more as a last resort, Durban proved that. They needed to negotiate but avoided doing so with the EFF. They negotiated with the smaller civic parties there.

Losing power in a city is small change compared to losing power nationally. If they get under 50% then they'll activate that last resort card.

2024 will be interesting.

My early predictions

- Big ANC decline
- Slight DA decline
-Pleateau for VF+ and EFF
- Action SA to spin a suprise (they actually seem to be appealing to the growing swing voter community in SA and some who don't actually vote in elections but who will vote for them out of South Africa First Policy and novelty).
