TopTV cant keep up with demand

Go TopTV! Keep up the great PR, maybe one day soon we can see some real competitive pricing from Multichoice!

@ R 99 p/m, they're already starting a tidy turnover of approx. R 5 million p/m - nice! :)

Enough for the satellite bandwidth we are letting go with all the undersea cables coming in ;) Well timed.

How many months notice do I need to give to DSTV??

If its a month or so they should have sorted their teething problems.:D

This helped me to get to speak to an consultant : Just be patient !!!

Hear is how to get to a top TV consultant, when you call the 086... Number, when you are prompted to leave a message, do so and after you're requested to hung up, press 4 (send massage and return to main menu) then you will be asked to wait for an operator or dial the direct extension (this is were I Broke the code ) press 1001. This will put you back in the waiting queue (with music in the background, no lady's voice)

50,000 in 1 day? Assuming a 12 hour day that 4166 / hour or 69 / minute or just over 1 per second.... DAMN!

Wonder how their call center / new IT systems kept up with that volume and didnt crash.

I think it did crash earlier today. The lady went all slurry and then only the busy tone for a while.

OT, I read elsewhere on this forum that the are dabbling with the idea of video-on-demand in about 2 years' time. Wonder how true that is.

As soon as ODM has cleared the backlog of calls to its call centre and things have stabilized ODM should deliver beige coloured adult nappies to NoChoice HQ in Randburg.

They say that the decoders were sold out on Saturday already.
Yet @ 12:00 on Sunday afternoon (yesterday) I bought a decoder from Game in Fourways. And from what I saw, they still had maybe 100 or more on the pile in their storage...

So i'm sure it was sold out quickly, but there were still some left on Sunday.

Getting installed and activated is the only issue now...

I bought mine late on Saturday afternoon and the manager there said they had received 48 in total on Saturday morning.

They have a lot to learn, It was a very poorly planned launch, expecting happy clients with this type of staggered drips and drabs on incoherent information can only lead to disgruntled clients, Call center agents are churning calls and making errors left right and center leaving little room for quality.

They should have allowed potential clients to pre-register, purchase the decoder, have it installed, activate the unit and just start broadcasting on 1 May... Would have been a much smoother ride.....

Anyways, I bought my decoder on Friday Morning in Cape Town, Called TopTV on Saturday morning, after an hour i finally got to speak to an agent, gave them my details, they then sms'd me the same installers details thrice, Controlled Clarity! I called them and spoke to Paul, he was very accommodating and after gicing him my address along with the required details he confirmed that he would do the installation on Monday at 2:30, 2:30 came and went and he called to say he was running late. His installer then called to say he was stuck at a job and he would be at my place after 5 as the rain was throwing things out.

I hung up and realized that either this guy is talking BS cos the sky's blue all over CPT or something is fishy....

I then called him back and asked him where he is, Around the corder in Cresta he says, To which i asked if he had a portal to and from CPT from JHB cos there aint no corner from my area to Cresta,....

Long story short, TopTV has dropped the ball... Hope for their sake they have the forsite to change the catcher... Now only have confirmed install date on Thursday... So who is going to pay me for the while 5 hours i took off work today to be at home waiting for nobody......

Bash - imobi...

GearBox, so we all learn out of other peoples mistakes, sometimes, and its unfortunate, that we are the other people...
