TopTV installation, decoder, dish pricing revealed

I wonder which channels there will be? Can't see anything on their website.
I don't realy care for fashion or food channel, or even sport.... just want Discovery, Nat Geo, History, BBC, perhaps a movie channel then I'm happy camper :-)
guess we'll have to wait for the launch

They have posted a channel list here on myBB - just do some searching :p

I will wait this one out and see how it goes - currently in the middle of some series on DStv so won't be switching any time soon.

Does anyone know if they will support Microsoft Media Center and HD?

If so I will be the first to switch. DSTV HD costs way too much!

No. I'm persnally was againest DSTV having porn because whp wants to watch boring ass softcore porn

and you also complained with actionX/sabc/etv and their porn on mnet during weekends ?

I'm not following - from the previous article comes:

"ODM’s big selling point is that subscribers will have the ability to choose the channels they wish to watch. "

and now, it's back to the choose 20 or choose 50 model?

Looks like there will ebe a few choices:

We are launching in May 2010 and will be offering 7 different pricing options ranging from R99 to R249 per month depending on your needs. For just R99 a month you can have access to over 20 channels, providing a comprehensive range of genres, like general entertainment, news, sport, movies and music, while R249 will buy you over 50 channels with some of the world's premium content.

Looks like there will ebe a few choices - seven if I am not mistaken.

would be nice when we can finally have on demand shows and only pay for what you really watch via some decent dsl/wireless connection imho.

They do say there will be 7 packages to choose from. All in that price range.

They say you can use the same satellite etc that you do for DSTV, I wonder if this means you can use the same dish to recieve both simaltaniously? I dont know too much about it, but surely unless they are using the same satellites it will have to point in a different direction? Im talking of course if you wanted to run both STB off 1 satellite? Anyone know anything about the technical aspects?

Some people live and love to whine. Get a better paying job so you won't have to b1tch about R249pm.

The numerous other threads on the topic cover this. Apparently the dishes would need to point in different directions so if you wanted both you'd need two dishes.
