The process is no different to downloading a torrent file.
Open the .nzb with your news reader application (preferably sabnzbd) instead of opening up a .torrent file with a torrent application. Only difference is that you need to enter your usenet server details before you can download because everything comes from a central server and not thousands of other peoples computers.

I know how to use nzb's - knowledge i gained in this thread. Using sickbeard and sabnzd with AstraWeb/mweb + nzbmatrix.
My question is what's the benefit of nzbsa?

DuDE!!! go checkout the HP Proliant Micro Server thread, it is byfar the most cost effective solution for a NAS/HTPC/Multipurpose system for R1309.86 incl vat from Esquire, the price is going up by R1000 by next week if not sooner and stock is limited. Everything you need to know is in the thread in the Hardware section. (i would link you but am lazy lol).
I am getting mine this week and others had to be limited to 5 from the 200 they ordered. Also lookout for Milkman's Ultimate Guide for setting those above apps with the exception of NZBAir & MySQL.
As for which is better, they both have their merrits, i get a TV show for the grandfather that is capped and released only on torrents (no trace of Newsgroups having it) and get constant speeds (its a free tracker heh). But definitely for upto 1350 days or so, NZBs are the way to go

If you're talking to me, i have one. Got it a month ago from cybernetic. Like 50 bucks more than esquire.
Everything setup with nzb on openelec.

Guys, sorry to hijack thread, but who downloads via warez? (Rapidshare / Netload, etc). My query is because i recently changed ISP's, and i use Jdownloader to get my warez, but what seems to be happening is the downloads stop after about an hour and then have to manually restart, obviously a problem during the night. Is there another free download agent capable of handling warez? Either that or must change ISP again!

Those filesharing sites unless you using a premium account will usually get cut off due to a 1 iP limit etc. So get one of those cheap few $ per day account to test. I doubt changing to another piece of software will yield different results. Are you getting full throughput at night from those sites?
/OT uhmm, Couch Potato is abit confusing wrt how it captures its nzbs but am hoping this is something to do with Api issues on matrix.

Have purchased premium. Been using them for a helluva long time. Was fine on other ISP for over a year, and not so much anymore. Get full throughput when connected, but then disconnects. Have ZERO idea of how to download via nzbs? tried once but failed. And torrents are not my thing.

Also tried nzbs way back when and gave up. But its actually very easy.
Get sabnzbd, nzbmatrix, trial news server account from giganews and hook it all together. Done. Add sickbeard and you'll never go back.

Use ainer.org guides based on Ubuntu. But the how to on setup is the same for sabnzbd, sickbeard, and potato. Just skip the install, and startup scripts.

That actually works well. Just check which sites gets posted to the most and buy premium account and you are set. Jdownloader works well when hooked up with a premium account or two. Usually these file hosting sites have software to download loads of links with a premium account.
The only problem I have noticed with file hosting sites [warez] is that the links can be taken down quite quickly. Once they have been taken down its hard to find the rest of the files. Other than that it works pretty well.
