Torrents vs. NZB

I bought a premium account for 6 days via premium sms to see how the service works and speed ect ect.

I get a error 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.1.4 when I want to download a complete torrent after archieving.

EDIT: Its still giving the error but refreshing the link alot or setting your download manager to rety constantly seems to work. Downloading at 420kbs

2 weeks back I decided to fiddle with NZBs. Oh wow. I have been missing out.

SabNzbd, Sickbeard and NZBMatrix make one awesome combo.
Then throw in the Google chrome extension so you just click the Sabnzb icon next to your download link and the NZB is sent to SabNzbd. Wowie.

Then the cherry is Sab Sheep on my galaxy note. Can browse NZBMatrix from it and send the NZB to SabNzbd with a simple button press.

I am currently messing with an app that uses predefined movie filters to automate the downloading of movies too.

This morning I uninstalled uTorrent.

So that is SB + CouchPotato or MovieGrabber + Headphones = Completeness (mostly). There is an anime build of SB if you an anime fan and theres work on a Games one too. I also suggest don't uninstall your uTorrent just yet . [edit] bugger you already removed it lol

For an AIO app, try HTPC Manager [Manage XBMC, Sabnzbd, SickBeard with one app]

Thanks dude. I was going to crash early tonight but you just got me out of bed. I want to check these apps out.

I don't use XBMC though. Just as Torrent to NZB is considered to be a leap forward, so is XBMC to Plex

EDIT: From what I understand, but CouchPotato is similar to Sickbeard? Are they different? (Still a noob remember).

The option you need to click on is the little man on the Menu header and not the Profile option in the Menu, I will ask our coder to make this more user friendly.

SABNzbd + CouchPotato + Sickbeard + NBMatrix is a really good combo. If you through in Astraweb, then you are all sorted and you will never go back to torrents

Can't really compare these two. I use both. Unless you pay for your usenet service, you get way more rare things on torrents. (Torrents in general are slower. Private trackers are a lot better). I download things as they are uploaded to usenet and things are often re-upped (on a free usenet service, the retention on files are like 250 days max in my experience).

I don't pay for either one, but use usenet way more. It's lekker fast on mweb and can download at a decent speed any time of the day even if the files are not cached on the mweb server. I use torrents for things I can't find on usenet.

What services do you use? I wanted to sign up for a few things the weekend and get going but realised that my CC has expired, so would like to get started with a few free services to see how it goes... Already have my HTPC setup and ready to go, SABNzbd, sickbeard... the works. Just need services now...

If I understand you correctly...xsusenet.com has a free 1mb service with 25gig cap. Otherwise you will need to look at proper services when you get your new CC.
