I use xusenet premium. Works like a bomb and cheap.
After reading through all this I decided to sign up for astraweb+ nzbmatrix+ sixkbeard+ pabnzbd. I have downloaded a few things but I'm getting a few errors here and there which I'm not all too sure about. Also... I've tried to schedule game of thrones and Homeland to download through sickbeard but nothing had happened except for one episode of GOT downloaded via sabnzbd but nothing else..? What am I doing wrong here...?
It might be you couldn't grab them. Check your log -> info. It will say if it tried to snatch it, etc. Also check the wanted/snatched part.
It says wanted currently. The ones that say snatched have downloaded (two GOT episodes). Surely homeland shouldn't battle so much to find the episodes...?

Try adding more providers, Womble Index, Sick Beard Index and if you like you could add custom providers for NZB.su and NZBSA
NZB.su's Site URL would be https://NZB.su/ and NZBSA would be http://api.nzbsa.co.za/ you will find API key's on both those sites.
The more providers you have the better chance of finding stuff
What providers are you using (for searching)?
The ones that have already downloaded shouldn't say snatched anymore - have you set SABNZB to execute the sickbeard script once completed?

Also check your Sick Beard's usenet retention, Config, Search Settings and set usenet retention to 1350 for Astraweb

That is a valid error message returned by the API as it is not meant to be used in a browser
The API URL's should be added to Sick Beard as providers.

Sorry, from your post I thought that is the link to the API key (I am a member btw). Where's the API key then? Cos I can't seem to find it

I have followed alt's guide, otherwise I wouldn't honestly know how to set SABNZB to execute the sickbeard scripts...?

EDIT: I keep on getting this in my error logs:" Authentication error: Your authentication info for NZBSA is incorrect, check your config". I have my own API key as far as I'm aware and I used the site stipulated in the guide...any other ideas...?

Bits or bytes? What's your line speed?
I don't think it would be the client. The problem is either with your ISP or Usenet provider (unlikely if it's a paid provider, quite likely if it's a local free provider).

Zen geez you seem to have way too much info going at the moment. All you need is a news grabber, i use newsleecher and pay for it because it's bloody awesome. Grabit is also rather good.
Then go to nzbmatrix.com, they have all the good shyte. Are you with newshost? Most of the stuff on newshost though comes from nzbmatrix.

You are pretty much covered now for music, series, movies and if you into porn www.newzxxx.com cannot be beaten. What i like about newsleecher is supersearch, it does cost 2 dollars a month though.
I would also suggest a newsdemon account rather than astaweb http://www.newsgroupreviews.com/newsdemon-special-coupon.html
they have ssl servers which will help if your isp throttles you. Astraweb ssl is not true ssl or some shyte if i recall they may have changed it since i last used them but i recall when mweb was throttling i was getting full speed with newsdemon ssl but not astraweb ssl.
O yes nzbmatrix and nzbmagic have massive collections of flac albums, wow i have spent days just browsing
