U2 brings Computicket website down

So we can go to Computicket and request a receipt? I have two confirmation numbers for different sets of tickets but I don't trust these useless b******s as far as I can throw them. I'd rather be given the opportunity to fight them between now and Feb rather than wait till the last minute to realise they fscked up.

Maybe costs are too high, maybe they don’t care since tickets get sold anyway, maybe they don’t feel a high percentage of their users have the internet, who knows. I see Computicket lost sales of cricket SA tickets to www01.ticketpros.co.za

Problem is no one could buy tickets for any other event today... They may have sold U2 but they alienated thousands of their "bread and butter" who will be no longer be buying Teatro tickets every week with Computicket.

Damnit! Why didn't I think of going to a Computicker in Durbs... they would have been empty!

hehe, not quite. Apparently still queues this morning.
Got ours at Checkers around 3PM, took about 5 attempts to secure them, then another 15 mins trying to get the ticket to print (they had to call support desk) Now to buy flights :(

Oh right, well 4 x tickets are still mine (I hope).

I don't get how a high-load would down their servers other than shoddy programming and ****ed up hardware. I have a 32gb Quad Core Linux server with 50k odd sites on there pulling traffic like there's no tomorrow and things are quite nippy... backups are a bitch, but there's always a maintenance window for that...

No really? U2 = greatest band of all time? Now that's some BS. I'm actually blown away by the enthusiasm for tickets. I mean, I enjoy a couple of their songs but sheesh, they certainly aren't Queen or RHCP. Those are musical geniuses.

There are far better artists, I agree. But for pure entertainment value, they're hard to match.

I was at a u2 concert at Wembley. The pop mart tour. Was incredible. Def one of the best concerts I've been to

I have been a U2 fan since the early 80s. I originally got into their early stuff - albums like War, Gloria, Under A Blood Red Sky, etc. Brilliant band. I also saw the Pop Mart concert when they came out here (Cape Town) in 1997. All I can say is that these chaps don't mess around - when they put on a show, they PUT ON A SHOW!!! They carry many tons of equipment, stage sets, etc. around the world with them. The show is bound to be well worth the money. Unfortunately, I don't have tickets yet - what are the chances that there will still be any, or that they decide to put on a second show at the last minute?

POOOR SHOW AS USUAL

Running on MSFT  http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=computicket.com

Same scenario happens with Kulula.com every time they have a ticket sales

Isn't it pathetic that their silly servers could not handle. At most it was 30000 connections in a 15 minutes period after 09:00. That is such a small number in comparison what some websites do on the web.

They have no clue what it is to host a interactive website. FGS they hosting at MWEB? WTF
