Rain dominates uncapped 5G pricing in South Africa

Rain offers the most cost-effective uncapped fixed-5G products in South Africa, a MyBroadband analysis has revealed.

However, it's important to note that Rain limits certain aspects, including video streaming resolutions, virtual private network (VPN) speeds, and torrent speeds, in its lower-tier product offerings.

So the 5G options are either live with a cheap but crap service, or sign up for a 24 month contract :-(

I am so tempted to try the Axxess 600GB 5G package. The problem is had n horrible MTN LTE experience at my location. Axxess map shows I'm covered for 5G, just not sure if the experience will be any better than the LTE one i had from MTN.

So unlimited home 5G premium, there is no throttling on VPNs and Torrents?

Rain 5G is for people that don't have fibre.

To make matters worst I've just gotten a confirmation by Rain support staff that the 5G equipment doesn't have backup power nor does network default to 4G when 5G isn't available meaning when in loadshedding and you have a UPS you'll still experience connectivity outage.

Why did we ever allow companies to use BS terms like uncapped, time dilation or lately the instant prize thing vodacom likes to punt. A 1000 entries into a draw aint a prize ffs. If we call companies early on their BS we can then actually compare stuff better.
