Uncapped local ADSL bandwidth kicks in

So if its currently in trial mode and they're not charging for it I'm going home to abuse my line! They don't often give you something for free :)

Can someone please tell me what I can download locally. I already know about SGS's game stuff. Is there anything else? HTTP downloads?

I'm with 56kMan on this one.

What's the point of uncapped local? There's no friggin' local content (bcos internet is too expensive, so min takeup = min content).

a 3Gig cap is a laugh a minute. 30Gig would be reasonable for local AND international. Or should we in SA have 'our own internet' because the rest of the world 'abuses' it?

This is a popular thread - it was only started at 1am this morning and already were on page 6! :)

you can connect to the IS linux mirrors and download gigs worth of linux iso's

Me peers upwards... Hmmm 109 posts... Um.. Ya, there is nothing to do local dude, give it up. Stop asking questions...

I support this forum fully, hence my posts. But there is more to the internet than one local forum site. You should check it out, it's this thing called the 'world wide web'.

Btw, posting on mybroadband isn't really going to nuke anyone's cap if it's all you're going to do online.

Can anyone there use joost.com?

I have an axxess SAIX 2GB local only account and its capped out.
So it looks like those are still happily capping.

My TI 1GB account is capped.

:D heehee The beast got ya! Its April 1st in China. Telscum uses Chinese maths so - So why not the calendar as well!

Ok everyone can get back to work and close this thread! :p :D

I know people use the old Linux ISO excuse regularly but because of this I was able to upgrade from FC7 to FC8 using local mirrors. That's 1.2GB worth of download and figured why not get the FC8 32bit and 64bit DVD ISOs at 3.2GB a pop for the heck of it.

I'll probably hoard all the Linux distros I can get my hands on locally.

Yeah I can, my Web Africa Account does not register local bandwidth, only international. When you download local, it remains unchanged.

Hopefully it's not due to Webafrica's stats being slow to update...

Can anyone confirm it for other non-Telkom ISPs? Openweb, for example.

Yeah but it updates international as soon as you log in and out of the console, so I don't think this is the problem.

Well I certainly hope it isn't in any case.
