Upcoming Games

Saw a gameplay vid of stellar blade.... she constantly sounds as if she is wearing something vibrating in a certain spot.....
 
As a huge fan of the original Life is Strange, I'm looking forward to what Dontnod can do with their own IP following a similar formula

I see there is already a lot of push back from the community regarding this. Obviously the stupid pricing structure is an issue with Ubisoft but I see a lot of people are saying that having a black dude as the main character of a story based in feudal Japan just does not make sense. From what I can read, it is not about the black character as a racist thing, but just that it does not feel right for the setting. Obviously Ubisoft is pushing the agenda so it will be interesting to see what the sales will be

Yasuke is a historical figure though.

Yeah I checked the video of them explaining it. I personally don't really care about it. As long as the game itself is good, I could play with a chicken for all I care. I am just wondering if this won't bite them in the ass a bit considering all the crap lately in the gaming industry. It seems that p1ssing off your player base has become the norm for game companies these days.

Fair point, lots of reasons to dislike Ubisoft and also think playing an actual ethnic Japanese would have been a bit more authentic rather than playing a unique historical character who was a an outlier in the culture.
 
This has been done already and I think what most people expected was a full eastern influenced game hence some push back.

Typical same **** every year Ubi that couldn't think up anything original.

And also, the Japanese are saying this game looks Chinese so they couldn't even get the setting right.

And if I remember right both previous games that shared leads hardly ever let you play the female so there is that too. Pointless.
 
Unique is exactly why I’d play it, there are dozens of Samurai games out there and it’s becoming boring. If it’s historically accurate, it’s authentic enough for me, and interesting. I very much support p1ssing off stupid people.

There are two main characters though.
A Japanese female shinobi then the Samurai Yasuke
No gameplay yet, but I assume it means you can approach situations either with stealth using the shinobi or using force as the samurai
If they take that approach then it can be interesting.
It is 100% a race thing since there is a Japanese as a main character and so far most of the outcry is from western white dudes who jack off to anime and wish they were Japanese

The price though?

They are also adding a ultimate addition with a $15 a month price tag or something crazy like that?

Part of the problem is that Yasuke was not a samurai so kinda not historically accurate. ;)

That said pretty sure with current US DEI push that not the only problem it might have, will see when the game comes out if its worth playing or not (Too early to say). For me, it's more about if the game is fun or not. If the DEI push takes away from the game, then I will have an issue.

I have no problem if there is green pink or even gold people in the game or if is factual or not, but for example when you start pushing sexuality in a game that has nothing to do with sex then I can see me going "Nope, im out"

Assassin's Creed has not been historically accurate for a very long time

Yeah that Ubisoft subscription is what they really want people to get instead of spending the once off $120. If they can grab people inside their ecosystem for 6-12 months then they score big time. Lets face it, there are a lot of people that will opt for the cheaper $15. They are banking on the fact that people forget about subs and hopefully grab a good few months worth of $.

I am hopeful about this game especially since it is mostly the guys that did Odyssey which is my favorite AC game.
I also don't care about the black dude, I know why he is in there, but I don't care.
 
I am starting Ghost if Tsushima this weekend, so hopefully I won't be Samurai'd out by November :ROFL:
