Not for posting one's personal details. I suggest you remove them from your post.

And how do I do that? Mind you, there's nothing really personal there, I think its all on the web. Anyway, maybe I'll be stalked. Sounds kinky!

All the same, thanks for the warning. I didn't think about it, will do in future

No need to be so defensive, I was just pointing out that I didn't type in an address to get that error.

It is strange that you received this message for typing the wrong address though, I would have thought your browser would have reported it couldn't find the server.

My apologies

Ja i thought that too.

I'm still getting these:
Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.
This time from rrs.slashdot.org.

Eish, I am struggling with HSDPA again this afternoon ... sites don't load, and if they do, it is extremely slow. Almost all of my international connections time out

Same problems as Landyman. I can measure response time with a calendar this afternoon!

Just called 155, they know of no problems (but they did say that they let the network guys know when people call in with problems like this). Good grief, I would have thought the network guys would be the first to know when the thing goes pear-shaped. I thought MTN was a poor deal, but this gets close sometimes.

Now I'll try the MTN sim and see if that's working better (and that after I've been so rude about them).

V3G, please come home soon. We miss you.:p

well i started getting high latencies to servers from about 8:30 with regular "request timeouts" (i keep a regular ping goin to monitor it). Latency to google.com was between 800ms and 1200ms (usually 250-350ms).

Yeah I'm sure its Vodacom...

Mine is consistently inconsistent between 200ms, 3800ms and timeouts.

If that makes sense ....
