Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Hi Electric,

From what I can see 50GB on Fatpipe is R 170. Is that what you are referring to?

Yes.
The same data on Afrihost is a fair bit more.
Even if you take into account their double data offer, you'd have to buy a 30gb topup for R150 but personally I'd go for fat pipe as it is a better service.
Well at least that's my experience.

Don't really see where you are getting those prices from.

AH capped 30+30GB is R129. 50+50GB is R199.

I see DrJohn has already posted the AH prices above. I thought perhaps there was something other than the 50Gigs for R 170.

second day mybb seem to to blocked by vox. no problem opening from axxess, afrihost, cybersmart or connection yet vox simply don't open.

Check your DNS - I'm not sure why but Vox's often goes down. Try Google's server at 8.8.8.8 and see if you can access MyBB.

already using google dns... since my OW days...

all I get is a blank page, but with the other isp's there's no problem!

Having the same problem.... Cannot access mybb using this account.... Called tech support and they are investigating apparently

Sent a query to Vox this morning. Checked the data usage on the account, and since my OW usage stories, i disconnect everything from my wifi at night. This morning nearly a gig usage without any connections. Anyways, awaiting feedback from them.

Hmm you may have a router with open exploits on it, which allows hackers to use it for all kinds of nasties. The fact that you get this on both Openweb and Vox makes me think it really is on your side.

You should perhaps try a different brand of router ect to see if that resolve your usage issues.

Alternatively you can turn your router off at night and see if that makes any difference.

That should tell you whether its an issue on your side or not.

As Tinuva said, get yourself a new router. I had a Netgear that broke, didn't matter what I did to it, it still went through a lot of data all by itself. By the end of the month it had used 80GB just playing naughty bugger...no idea what naughty videos it was watching or what nonsense it was getting up to...and then I caught it off guard and that was the last it knew of that!

Vox is broken in Cape Town. High latency every fscking night. Slow browsing at all times. DNS shot 90% of the time.

Is Vox doing something about this? @voxy

Been having the same issues with their site showing much more usage than I have downloaded.
I have downloaded 10GB, and their site claims 16GB. In the day when nobody is at home, and the line is not being used, it registers almost 2GB EVERY day. Over the last 2 months there must be at least 40GB over-usage.... logged a ticket and got the run-around, and told that the line was using the data. Strange how with all Wi-FI and PC's off over a weekend away, the account still registered 1.3GB for 3 days.

WTF?????????

EDIT: It's not my router.... PACE 921VNX which works PERFECTLY on EVERY other ISP account.

Maybe your Wifi was hacked?

There is something going on there on your end. I have a PC and media player that are plugged in and online 24/7 and don't have any issues with anomalous usage.

+1 here

No issues and my download PC stays on 24/7 with the Vox account dialed up.

Wi-Fi not enabled.

Have had this issue since July... reported it. Have proof of data usage from various times. I am going to ask Telkom for usage on that line for the period in question (yes, they do keep track, no matter which ISP you use).

Also, how do you explain that the same usage pattern over a month yields much less (30% less) data consumption on ANY other ISP account?
