Bye bye VOX, hello AH!

Been suffering terrible speeds with VOX for the past few months which they can't seem to sort out.

Signed up with AH last week, even moved my line to them and I am much happier.

I've accumulated just over 800GB of data on my VOX account which I'll be forfeiting... but what's the point if you can't even use it because of speeds under 1Mbps.

i would have said can i use that Vox data, but i have over 790 gigs of Afrihost data, plus free time so i dont need it lol. Internet landscape in the country is slowly but surely improving, and just needs Telkom to pull its finger out and get the exchanges sorted, and also Naked ADSL.

Slow downloads on PSN. On a 40 mbps line and getting like 500k per second download speeds. This is happening everyday...

I decided to try the Afrihost R1 promo.
Currently watching a HD P2P Stream with no stuttering and "No Data Use" - it is effectively Unshaped and Uncapped from Midnight to 6 in the evening.

Will decide by the end of the month if I will hand in notice here and walk away from the Rollover Data.
In the year I have been with VOX I have never managed to reach my cap because of their problems, so no chance of using the rollover either.

Also trying Afrihost R1 promo out with VOX does one also have to change or cancel before the 23rd ?

My AH account is fairing well so far, no issues on Hulu stream like i have on Vox. I haven't contacted Vox yet about my problem so don't know yet if they will be able to resolve.Is there no rep on the forum anymore?

Did a few game downloads on PSN through the night as well. so far impressed.

99% of the time the problem is lack of capacity so you'll just be wasting your time.

I'm having an issue at 2 clients with Netflix on Roku 3 both VOX fibre clients . Having problem playing title . Looks like Netflix new update checks regions from 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and VOX is somehow redirecting or masquerading these ip addresses which doesn't play nice with Netflix . Hope they resolve this issue soon .

Think my days are numbered with Vox as well, been ages since I've been able to stream HD on a 20MB line, the bandwidth is great... I'd like to be able to use it.

Their forum presence is also all but non-existent.

Yeah, streaming lately has been really bad, twitch.tv buffers so bad....
I may just cancel as well, and move to crystal web....

I was considering cancelling, but did a test tonight and VOX is about 20ms better in latency to EU gaming servers than AH.

So not sure what to do...
