Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Good evening

I'm moving from Crystalweb over to Vox. I have a 10meg line, and want to go uncapped. When can I join, and is it a good time now to join seeing so close to month end. My current connection stops on 30/06.

Word of caution: Vox uncapped are just resold IS accounts AFAIK, only g4g, bolt-on and FP are on the Vox backbone.
 
Vox's lack of authentication surfaces again .... Bolt-on for me.

Is nobody else having issues with their account authenticating tonight? This seems like a common thing for me on Vox.

You aren't alone, though I'm on the Bolt-on having intermittent / periodic problems. Most recent occurrence is since trying to connect - approx. from 1h30am this morning. Internet light wouldn't go from red to green, no matter how many times I rebooted the modem.

Since then it was perfectly stable for a few weeks (so I can only imagine they tweaked something on their side just after my initial complaint), then about 2 weeks ago it would connect - day (on Gig4Gig) / night (Bolt-on) - but every now & then would simply lose connection. (Internet light from green to red).

This is definitely a VOX issue, again - at about 2h30 a.m. I tested my Afrihost, then WebA. logins, and they're 100% stable. Haven't tried VOX again, but it wasn't accessible for at least an hour that I'm aware of, and your post confirms it was since last night.

Getting tired of them, and their stories - about how it's my bloody attenuation, and not their systems.

Posting this in the Bolt-on thread as well, as I don't think it's isolated to whether you have the Fatpipe or Bolt-on ... it's a VOX fault in general, in my view.


EDIT : I was able to reconnect to my VOX connection at 4h15 a.m., so I'm presuming they were messing around with their network overnight, affecting at least some of us.
This therefore has nothing to do with Voxy needing my a/c # (again) to try resolve the prob. - merely a case - as I see it - of them messing us around, without notifying us beforehand via e-mail that there will be downtime , OR , something going wrong after Bolt-on has kicked-in for the night (with ref to the fact that that is what I have, as opposed to the Fatpipe, which granted, is what this thread is about - both affected equally, I presume) .. Voxy, why don't you arrange for someone in your support to be able to login to MyBB during the night, and post on these 2 primary Vox threads, as to what is going on when there's downtime , especially when clients post of probs. experienced ?

I had streaming issues last night as well, its on and off on my side. last two days were pure bliss then last night happened, gave it a hour before trying again then everything good again.

My money is on IPC issues, not enough for everyone at times. And it seems Vox is growing in customer base.
 
Can a new vox subscriber maybe post a rounded version of their username please? That could potentially give us an indication of the subscriber numbers. My fatpipe is in the 70k range and my g4g account is in the 100k range.
g4g was early March.
 
So 30k in 8 months(between my 2 accounts). And then 20k increase in 3 months(between mine and slvr) accounts). I haven't had any issues with my account but with all the forum enquiries I have a bad feeling. But maybe Vox took Telkom up on the IPC upgrade and everything will be great.

how long do they usually take, i thought it would be immediate.

just need it for streaming and some p2p stuff which i will schedule after midnight if that makes any difference.

I been harping on about their bolt-on for the best part of a month now. That is their best product by a country mile and at the price point. Effectively negates the need for an uncapped account.

Check the notice period.

Scheduling after 12 will make a difference for d/l - not sure what the effect of streaming is though...

i did, its 30 days.

will tough it out till then if its bad and or maybe i can just convert the account to cap with that uncapped add on
