Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Well look, from a technical stand point I'm not going to pretend to know how their business model works but double their capacity would suggest to me that they could in effect double their client base? I may be way off cue with this assumption though.

Possibly they could yes, thing is with these fatpipe accounts is the roll over, so they can't exactly work on breakages.

Will be interesting once the other ISPs get double their capacity too. Although I don't think SA needs a price war right now, we just need quality internet.. which fatpipe is.. at the moment at least.

lmfao give it a month

with afrihost putting their Unshaped Business clients who race to download the most on Vox's network be rest assured this ISP is rip.

Vox are hardcore. They mean business.

Usually I would say this is just more BS spin but thus far we have no reason to believe otherwise. Their s hit just works. Period.

Fellow Durbanite! I've been noticing some latency spikes in the evenings in durban, not my exchange either (40Mbps Line)

Hope it goes away soon...

Are you on the legacy package as well? (fat pipe + bolt on)

Yup, I'm just a little concerned as vox may hit congestion soon with all of these new sign ups and also remember they are selling it for cheaper than what IPC cost per gig is, Afrihost did this and look where they ended up :(

I think most of their Samsung 1tb users came to an end, now they have more capacity

Well, to answer all the questions that were asked from me in some of the above posts....

1 - why look elsewhere if I am happy - well, yes, I am very happy but as I have access to Vox test accounts, I thought to see what all the fuss was about with their new offering and after they stated that they had fixed the issues from 3 months ago....

2 - Issues.... well, I do some simple tests using Netflix / Youtube..... the results: buffer / buffer .... oh bugger.... tests end.

And that is that. I just thought to let people know, hence my previous post, as not everyone has access to Vox accounts to "try before you buy"... :)

Vox Fat Pipe is great! Been using it for a year - if I have had problems with VDSL once or twice, it's been at Telkom, which gets resolved very quickly.

Full speed all the time - Last Result:
Download Speed: 18929 kbps (2366.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1886 kbps (235.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 7 ms
Jitter: 1 ms

I tried a test account about 3 months ago and it was really bad. I then tried another test account 2 days ago as they had apparently sorted out the issues from a few months ago and guess what...... It was the same .... Really bad. So, the grass isn't always greener on the other side and with this current offer, and all the AH clients jumping ship, it's going to congest their current network either way

No. I disagree.

Getting better performance here at a much better price than on CW at present.

well I signed up as well (after getting a WA account couple of weeks ago to move away from AH). The deal on the fatpipe looked too good to miss, especially the data roll-over. So far I'm very happy, everything I've tried so far ran at full speed.

Hope it stays this good!

The rollover is a major selling point, I still have 250GB left on my second 1TB account so when I actually start using this special I should have a nice buffer built up for times such as Steam sales.

Maybe you should stay in the CW thread just like I was asked to stay out of it.
;D

May I just say; I've been with Vox for over 2 years now off and on.
There's no other account that has performed like this account through out that period.

LOL..... I did see that.... ;)

However, as I have been a client of both within 3 months and I have access to test accounts, then I believe that I have a right to address my concerns on this thread :)

I will be honest and say that there is too much geographical / exchange grey when it comes to ISPs... what might be brilliant for me in Big Bay, is terrible in another suburb in CT... we must just choose and keep what is good for us all...
