Web Africa Home Uncapped Feedback

We do have a test account, however it's only a 3GB trial - we don't offer Uncapped test accounts just yet.

Agree 100% that things haven't looked the same, and we're already doing something about this.
The feedback seen online has already been fed back into the company to make a strategic decision on what to do next. Trust me when I say this, that we're very much aware of the feedback everywhere and we're doing a lot about it.
...if i look at THIS chart, it seems like a TELKOM fault, as EVERY ISP had an increase in complains...this doesn't make sense that suddenly ALL isp's are getting bad simultaneously...

I've read a few post and came up with the conclusion that I should choose MWeb uncapped over WebAfrica Uncapped.. Am I correct in saying this?

I'd advise you to get a trial from Mweb. I'm finishing with WebAfrica at the end of the month - wasn't happy with the service I received, but Mweb also has its problems.

Follow the Mweb Feedback thread for a while and have a look. Here

There is defnilty a problem in the usage panel.

I was over (actually ON) 11.32 Gig threshold 3 days ago. So I switched over to another account. For 3 days I haven't downloaded anything from WA.

I'm still on 10Gig usage/threshold .. (yesterday it said the said same thing). For 3 days nothing no downloads but yet I still show 10Gig ... WTF (How is it possible to hit 11Gig threshold and 3 days later still be on 10Gig threshold with no usage?)

I'll upload a pic in 2 secs

Edit x2:
Is there anyway how I can identify my 0-6am usage from other usage? I don't trust the usage panel at all.

Edit x3: This is on UNCAPPED account.

When you "switch" accounts...do you mean from 1 ISP to another? If that is the case, then obviously you havnt used WA data and will still have it...unless i'm understanding you wrong here? :wtf:

Yip, I used another ISP account. So there is squat WA usage . This is on the UNCAPPED account. I hit my threshold of 11Gig. Then stopped using WA account for 3 days. But my usage/Threshold sits on 10Gig (should be less according to me). If you download too much you hit your threshold right. So I hit my threshold... stop downloading (so my usage should decrease) . But it sits on 10Gig the whole time.

Edit: Sorry, in my haste I didn't specify I was talking about threshold on uncapped account. Added it.

aaa...ok...see what you mean. I saw THIS thread...dunno if it might answer your question...as i see this has been a question raised and "sorta" answered in JAN 2012 ---> http://forums.webafrica.co.za/showthread.php/7154-API-Home-Uncapped-Threshold

Here is another OLD thread...dunno if this might mean something, although this is not WA...

Still on 10.35 GB Threshold... WTF (I download 1.5 Gig this morning (1am-5am). But still on 10.35Gig ... something is wrong.

Is it your 6 hour or 7 day usage?

This type of statement makes me even more happy with MWeb uncapped. I do not have to bother about this micro management, painful control measures. I just leave it up to them to control - so much easier :)

Ok.WA phoned me just now. Looks like the "bug" was that I was over 11 Gig by far (could be).. and it wasn't showing the full bandwith used. So now it's calculating from the actual amount used instead of the 11Gig. (Which makes sense)

Thanks WA.

Can I trouble anyone on an 384 Kb line to just do a couple of speed tests? Just curious of what speeds I should expect when I'n not throttled.

how would you guys rate a 4mg uncapped adsl line for xbox live. Want a 4mg uncapped line due to i download a lot but also wanna game on it

Surely your preventative measures would kick in long before a user could "abuse" your service?

We've asked this question a million times, but the WA reps always simply ignore it.

Look at the rolling window as more of a punishment system than a system to prevent the network exceeding its capacity.
