Web Africa Home Uncapped Feedback

Hey I am happy with web Africa more or less just done like the service when there is a problem. Can't seem to get through on the phones and Skype calling never works. why are the call centers always so busy or short staffed. Also when don't like being promised something then nothing coming of it. Sorry for the rant but ja....

The 5 gig 2Mbps trial account im using is awesome... torrent downloads are at almost full line speed, i hope this isnt just for show during the trial period though. Pity i have to wait 6 weeks before i can switch.

my line is webafrica is it possible to requested refund though you guys for my adsl line being down?

Or must i request it though telkom , i know you can request a refund for the period of your line being down by telkom.

My line is down for 1 week so far , still waiting for telkom to come out , analog and dsl line down.

Yes, you can definitely get compensation for the time your line is down which will be added to your account as a credit as soon as the fault is resolved.

Please PM me your customer code so I can get our Lines team to process.

Our support team have been quite busy lately and this has affected our call wait time. I can definitely understand why you not happy with the service especially if something was promised and not delivered.

Please send me your customer code via PM so I can get our support team to investigate.

This threads pretty quiet compared to the other isp user feed back threads, not sure if that's a good or bad sign? im considering the 2meg uncapped with line for R489/month when my mweb notice ends at the end of march. would appreciate some user feedback on this such as p2p, youtube performance and throttling thresholds....

Over the last 2 weeks or so, I have found my line speed has deteriorated. I do not know whether this is due to the migration to IS or not, but it's too much of a coincidence! I used to set about 4Gb of downloads at night, around 11PM, and by the time I woke up in the morning (5.30AM) it would be finished and my pc would have already shut down some time during the night. Now it seems anything over 3Gb is not finished overnight!!

The issue I have is that I do not download like this every single day, only twice a week, and I never had an issue previously!

This is on a 2Mb uncapped line. My SNR and attenuation has not changed drastically, so I know it's not my line.....

Have you spoken to our ADSL guys to see if they can fix your issue? We are in the process of migrating to our new network so customers should see improvements soon.

Hi Justin, apologies for posting that here without speaking to support, I was just very frustrated. When I got home last night, around 6.30PM, a 3gb file I had set to download the previous night had not yet finished.

I will wait for the migration to complete and monitor, if the situation has not improved, I will call support then.

Checked my usage on webafrica, 67GB this month - apparently 5 star.

Cancellation done.

As per my reply to your post on thread here please PM me your customer code as well as ADSL username/password so I can get our engineers to investigate your matter.

So last month I decided to cancel my WA Uncapped account, so I did via the online client area. I was told it would take a full calendar month to cancel it (I kept my line with them as I find the line management features very useful). I cancelled it due to the account having connectivity issues with my TeamSpeak server and WA being unhelpful in resolving the issues.

Anyway, soon after that I got a call from Tarin at WA inquiring about why I cancelled my account and if they could do anything, etc. I explained my situation, and was offered a trial account on WA's new network (new clients got priority on the swap over, old clients had to wait). I accepted and was told that a new account would be created and even though I would be charged for it, it would be credited back to me. I was told that the cancellation request was suspended and if I chose not to continue with the account I should just send an email requesting the cancellation to be re-instated.

I tried the new account, it was better, but was still horrid compared to the OpenWeb account I had already setup. A couple of days later I sent Tarin an email requesting the account to be cancelled once more.

Then yesterday I receive an invoice from Web Africa for:
1x Pro-rata Uncapped Account for Feb (R266.36) *Note: I had already paid for my Feb ADSL account
2x Uncapped Account for March (R339 each)

Since I had setup payment via credit card I was automatically charged for all of this. And as far as I can see the cancellation request was not re-instated.
I am dumbfounded but this.

You are not alone.... About 21 January I cancelled my 4Mbps uncapped account. I was told that sorry need 1 calendar months notice. I said ok fine they charged my credit card for January and February..... 3rd February they annouce the new prices for new clients.......

I was out raged..... I emailed them and they credit my account with R160 because they did not want to refund me that money. I said ok no problem I might try out the new network in the future but for now that R160 can stay in my account as credit note.

I noticed but the account is not being cancelled even though some one called me asking why I'm cancelling. I said I'm using Telkom uncapped now. He said no problem the account will be cancelled at month end February.

That never happened and they told me that I need to give 1 calendar notice and it will only be cancelled at the end of March. Now I'm furious....... They have just imcompitant staff working there its making me sick.....

Now they suspended my account. Now suddenly I owe them R179.... [R160 credit note I had - R339 for marfch uncapped]

Now fighting with them trying to not charge my credit card was pointless cause they say billing already ran. I see the money was not deducted. Now they took my credit note of R160 away and said sorry but why do I need a R160 credit note if the account was cancelled........

Wow webafrica went downhill fast and I don't know what to do anymore or to who to complain...............:confused::confused::confused:

OHHHHHH MY GOD................ Webafrica charged my credit card for that R175........... I'm sorry but this company is the most useless I have ever saw in my life...... Jesus I just hope they close down cause they don't know what they are doing there.

Morning,

Reading both of your complaints is extremely alarming and should not be happening. I must apologise for this and will be getting this sorted but will need both your customer codes.

Please PM me your details so I can take this further.

PMed you no call from webafrica. Money still deducted and no resolution. They suspended the account. Basically paid for March can't even use it but I don't want to but still paid for it. Email support is USELESS.

Its official that webafrica is THE WORST isp when it comes to billing for me. They just get it so badly wrong its embarrassing...... Looks like I need to report these deductions from webafrica as fraud and block my card cause they are not removing it and keep on making "billing errors"

Hi Cavedog,

I have replied to your PM and sent this onto the Manager in our Billing department. I would like to apologise for you not getting a call yesterday as promised.

I have again asked them to call you and get this matter resolved.
