Web Africa's new ADSL pricing revealed

It only takes one time to break all trust. Not sure if you date much, but in any relationship, once your partner cheats, it is very very very very very very very hard to move on from that and/or not question every single move they do at all. Never mind how big their boobs are, or how good their blow jobs might be (lol, referencing "support levels" there in my own spechul way). It will always be in the back of your mind that they cheated on you, and whenever they're "out with the girls" or "going to buy milk" you question them as to why it took them so long or why they only came back 3 hours after they said they would...

Only in this case, it's like getting back to your love pad at 3am, after a long night of wining and dining your hot new date, secretly tapping your fingers, waiting, waiting, longing, while having to endure a tirade of endless, meaningless small talk and drivel, only to discover, once undressed, that she is a he.

I have a feeling that WA did not drop the price on the accounts that are big sellers. So they kept them up. And they thought that by dropping other accounts to try and get people to buy those ones cause its not selling so well.

Its commen practice to do this in any business, why do you think you get special at a supermarket? Its cause most of the time the product is coming to its expireration date and is not selling fast, so they drop those prices to try to sell them.
Unless they get a promotion from their sales rep, but beside that point, alot of people are buying pre-paid, so they dont drop the price much on those. And for the other accounts they did'nt even drop 1c means alot of people have those accounts. If nobody had them or very few did, it would have most definitly been in this price reduction yesterday. but its not

So WA is like the hot girl who wont put out and Afrihost is like the decent girl who loves it?

OK Lets do the apple's versus apple's again

Data Only
Telkom All Access 5Gb int + 30 Gb local = R239

To get the same package at WA using the cheapest per gig pricing I could find on the list:
(5 x R44.54 = R222.72) + (30 x R13.25 = R397.50)
This comes to R620.22

WA just made Telkom look Great

Someone please verify these figures as I can't believe it.

Ok, this thread just became creepy very quickly.

I don't think we will see wamatt and co on this forum again soon. (and probably never in this thread again)

me laughing at mybb users who were defending WA's decision to give 100 accounts to peeps with 20 posts.....

That was, imho, a cheap trick, like Garyvdh said. Nothing more than a PR stunt.

I'm never going to use WA ever again. If I go to a mate's house and need to check email or whatever I'll first make sure he isn't a WA subscriber.

I'm also disgusted by these figures (price cuts) but WA has a 30GIG Local for R130.

It's funny how one always !@$#@ up in a company...only once....might be something innocent....posting on a forum....organising a fake day at gold reef city when the boss told us to work our 8 hours while management is away lol

you can substitute the 30 Gb with the R130 option from WA(IS)

R350

But that is on IS and IS local is virtually useless, not to mention that you can also get the 30gig local from openweb for the same price.

What a bunch of fat cats, adding bandwidth and keeping the price, basicallly the same! Prepaid from R 63 to R 62!!! hahaahaha. Obviously wanting to maintain the turnover to service the penthouse repayments!

This is probably the beginning of the end for this Co.... what a bunch of morons. I am so so so disappointed!

I read to page 36 then I ran out of toffees :/

G_G no re webafrica

@WA During the trial you gave away 8000x 20 gig int accounts ? or was it 10 ? and 1000x 200 gig local accounts? For FREE
With you "new and cheaper" pricing this would come to
59x1x20x8000 = R 9440000 for the int accounts
14x1x200x1000 = R 2800000 for the local
But we all know you dont sell it at the same price you buy it so lets just say we take hmmm... 1/10 of the total..
That gives around R1224000 and im sure all the upgrading you did cost quite a bit...

So my question is have you released these new prices to cover the cost of the trial and upgrading and in July when you "innovate and increase value" how much of a change are we going to see?

PS: i must say your hosting packages are nice tho ;-)

When I read your whole post and then saw that I lol'd. :P
