Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

I would be the best headline grabbing journalist they ever had.

It will be so grabbing it might even be considered pedophile

Start weight 58kg
Goal: 65kg
Reality: 56kg at thread post date due to being sick for a week/high metabolism.

Now: 58kg after skiing/exercise again.

Oh DrewChan - further to my PM, I am LCHF as well.....

Flame away Thor187....

Not going to flame. Just know that you would most likely get better results implementing something else.

However you chose LCHF, it will still heel results for you, but my definition and your definition of result may vary that's all.

Not too worried about who is doing LC and who isn't although healthy debate keeps the thread going

I am definitely carb intolerent - started 2014 at 130kg then started LCHF. Xmas 2014 I was at 105kg

I think that's it though - deciding on and defining what results you're looking for is the key here. I just wanted to lose weight and I can say that LCHF worked exceptionally well for me in 2014. I don't feel like I've lost much muscle mass, but then I don't do any regular strength training aside from push ups which hardly count.

The LC debate definitely constituted a significant part of last year's thread!

That's good because you lost weight and gongratz.

But that over 12 months is.... 2kg a month... That's pretty Bleh.

But at the end of the day you lost weight so kudos

I wouldn't call 2kgs per month bleh - I would say 2 - 3 per months falls into a good range in terms of not eating muscle etc

When we do transformations we shed about 20kg of fat in 85 days whilst packing on 5-6kg lean muscle mass.

So yes in my books 15kg over 12 months is bleh.

Hence why I said my definition and his definition of "results" differs.

This is probably a discussion for the Bodybuilder thread but how do you shed weight with a calorie deficit diet and still gain muscle mass?

I thought it was not possible.

Guess you are right this might not be the thread for it.

Not all calories are created equal.

I posted a link earlier explaining calories is very detail explaining that a calorie deficit is also very vastly different from what people generally understand.

I agree with you, it was slow and there were some off-wagon bumps along the way but I have yo-yo diet'ed all my life and now realise that a sustainable diet/lifestyle change is the only way I am going to keep the weight off. LCHF gives me this - my favourite foods are biltong, dry wors and fatty meat cuts and those boxes are ticked on LCHF. Throw in the other "green list" foods and some 85% dark chocolate for treats and life is brilliant and the weight stays off.

I must add that I am spending a fortune on Nespresso pods. Sugarless strong coffee with cream is my go to fix and I have never enjoyed it so much as I do now!

This is the reason I get fvking mad when peoplw say LCHF.

They think any fat is good.

A high fat diet DOES NOT mean droë wors and fatty meats.

Sigh.

You want healthy Fats.

How are animal fats not healthy?

How is Saturated Fats healthy? Animal fats are the primary source for saturated fats.

Trans and saturated fats = bad
Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats = good

Omega 3 fatty acids = good

Tim Jokes = Bad and being bad is for woman.
