Staying with Wagyu - it's available from Impala Butchery near Cresta on Beyers Naude.

Hmm..... hope I haven't posted this before???

I'm lucky enough to get my wagyu directly from the suppliers, but I saw Fleisherei stock it as well. Haven't bought from them though so I can't comment on the service or quality.

Lucky fish!

Wonder if it all gets sourced from one same supplier/farm or if there are multiple breeders/farms now with this specific beef.
Surely not all imported with the rising number of places starting to sell it?

Pretty sure it will also start hitting restaurant menus soon. But I don't even want to imagine the prices! Probably all Price on Request.

Some upscale restaurants sell it afaik, although I haven't seen any on a menu. That being said, I'd have to go to an upmarket restaurant first :)

There are already 4 farms I know of so supply shouldn't be a problem. It is in high demand though.

Apparently there's a restaurant at the Times Square Casino in Pretoria called Forti which sells wagyu ribeye @ R600 a serving. Not sure of the serving size, though, but I'd wager less than 500g. EDIT: Apparently it's 300g.

Makes sense that they would serve it.
Wife and I eyed them for one of our date nights but prices were exorbitant even for our special treats budget.

We ended up having a stunner of an evening at Kream in Brooklyn that night.

Before or after they moved to where Cynthia's used to be? I've heard they've gone downhill since moving there.

At the new premises.

We were very impressed and happy. But yes, I have seen on some of the reviews that people say it is not the same anymore.

Unfortunately I could not compare. But I do believe we will go back there one day. But for now there are a few other places on our bucket list first.
