You got some image retention. Not burn in. I take it the ordeal left you so traumatised that you still have to harp on about it 5 years later like people need to worry.

Why do you need to be hostile? :/

He asked why pixel shifter wouldn't always work ; I explained to him why it wouldn't always work?

LET THOSE WITH IMAGE BURN IN SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

We don't need a poster boy for a supposed problem that supposedly affects lots of people.

We're talking past each other :/

Someone asks a question, I reply - and you read something totally different? In little boy speak :

A : Why does X not work with Y?
B: Y doesn't do Z, so X won't work

That's how communication works :/ I'm not sure what you're actually reading ....

Don't worry i got what you were saying dude.

What i mean by 15 minutes is don't go away from a the tv and leave it on. So when i go away from my pc i switch it off ensuring it the entire screen is not on a still image.

I'd actually put that white wash on went I left it for a while.

Serves the purposed of preventing more IR and also removes any that may be starting

Fair enough ....

He seems to have bought it because everyone told him new plasmas no longer have this issue - so he bought his 2011 plasma .... and sadly he did have retention :/ Lucky for him though, it only lasted 3 - 4 days ...

:)

Image retention is perfectly normal operation that should not concern anyone unless it is repetitive day in day out hour after hour with nothing else in between in which case plasma is not right for them and they will inevitably end up abusing it.

Read the thread you linked, explains everything. They share the exact sentiments that us "plasma realists" have. I trust it's good hearing it from another's mouth.

Do you forget that you and I used to debate this back in the day? I don't need it to be explained it to me - I know what it is. I also said his day go away, in a few days.

So we're all saying the same thing

That was 2+ years ago

Why live in the past though? Seriously.

It's like me judging you based on your previous dislike for iPad/iProducts, and then going to threads and posting about you as if you still had the same beliefs. This is misrepresentation. I can't stand it.

I STILL KNOW WHAT IT MEANS ... that's what I'm saying.

Maybe you need to wake up more - or read the posts fully.

IE. I knew what IR was then, I know now and there is no point in reading the thread to understand it.

Then don't use it as an opener and allow others to misconstrue what you say. State your point without emotion/history involved.

Becoming?

:(

Hey we are owners of both tech with open minds, so we are non biased, we just point out flaws all techs have...

;)

Can you explain the problems?

Seems to be one of the best locally/easily available LCD TVs you can use for a PC monitor, so you'd probably have to investigate them pricey PC IPSes.
Managed to almost completely eliminate the input lag and ghosting, but then I noticed there was a lot more color in the centre of the screen, and washed out on the sides mostly, but also along the top and bottom - after checking a bluray and a game and a photo I got too irritated that the same problem didnt exist on my 46D550.

Anyway, I bought the LG 42LW4500 (42LW450U) but after putting the box on my desk I think 42" is too big - my peripheral vision cant fit the whole screen! :/ I'm not winning, not even sure if I should bother opening the box.

On my desk:

You seriously considering sitting right in front of a 42" screen?

Probably take it back tomorrow, can't use the 3d from less than 2m too. Pity, such a nice screen...
