In that case I think you have lost out. This hasn't any of that, it's very light peat which a peat-hater said that he would happily drink it.Nooooo fokit. It's not for me. That medicinal smell, faaarkit, and the taste, norrefok again.
Rub my nose in it ...... I'm just weary when i read Islay or peat.
It is out on delivery. Tried to deliver to my house, but I change it to my office address. If you've paid duties, I'd be surprised if you don't get it Tuesday. Depending on where you live, it could be with you tomorrow.
@BartSimpson weren't you missing a bottle in your order? So a mate ordered 1 x 9yo WB release and they delivered two.
Do you think anyone will miss it![]()
Nice review for someone who describes a beginner. In my so-called beginner days, I did not enjoy any of their products. I really struggled. Time to gives this a try though, as it would be good to support another local distiller. This is definitely the highest ABV whisky I've had so far. The high ABV was overpowering and I found it hard to nose and taste it properly. I did take a few sips at cask strength but had to add water to really enjoy it.
I'm still a beginner and not good at describing smells and tastes yet, so all I can say is I really like this whisky! It was a lot smoother than I thought it would be but also had a lot of complex flavours and a very enjoyable long finish.
When I get a chance I'll do some side by side comparisons with other sherry cask finishes I have and try to write down some notes.
On the WhiskyBrother website they say "The mouthfeel is thick and rich, reminiscent of heavily spiced rice pudding with nutmeg and cinnamon, and a coffee bitterness tinge in the background"
I didn't get any of that, so I guess that must be before watering it down a bit. Or it is just me lol
I'm sure anyone cracking open one of these bottles won't be disappointed!
Will be picking mine up at the distillery when I do the tour / tasting mid-DecemberSo the last JSD thing for the year is a fresh batch of Bain's 15yo. Available to purchase from the distillery or online. I highly recommend it. Grab one if you enjoy a really good grain whisky.
