What a bargain !! A MUST buy:

Grabbed it, thanks. Haven’t tried the High Voltage but loved the single malt one.

Talking about Crabbies, does anyone know where you can get their ginger beer locally?

I saw it at about R700 the other day and held off until payday. I see it's OOS and I'm SOOL. Fuggit!

My drunken Black Friday purchases
arrived from WaW today.

I wanted to grab the Aerolyte but held off due to some not so stellar reviews. Be interested to know how it is.

Latest purchased based on extensive amounts of recommendations...from Whisky friends as well as online reviews.

Cannot wait to try these soon:
The AnCnoc 12 is super - I much prefer the 18 but you've still got one beaut of a dram there!

I bought the Aerolyte for the novelty factor and while drunk.

My Three Ship bottle has arrived and look what I've noticed: they both have been aged in PX casks and have the same ABV. It will be a great fight!

Is 63.7% a magic number?

63.7% isn't magic at all, it's coincidence. I can't help but wonder at what strength they casked it originally though. The usual numbers are between 60% and 65% ABV, and to keep that high number after 11 years in the cask is uncommon.

What is the highest ABV that we can get in SA - for whisky? I've had a witblits at about 70% but nothing close for whisky.

Not that I think it'd be a good idea, but just out of interest.

The Three Ships WB bottling is at 63.7% and I've not seen anything higher than that (the others I've seen are 61.x%). Is anything higher? If so, what is the highest?

EDIT: my Bottleshop order just arrived. Praise be.

Sorry, I’m not sure if you are being “hilarious” but that just takes me to google where I have searched but with no success.

Hence my question. I was hoping someone might have seen some in a specialist or local booze shop for example.
But that wasn't your question, now was it?

So no, I wasn't being hilarious at all...I quickly Googled and posted the general link to ALL the links where you can actually click on something and order it online.

There's sites where you can buy online...there's info where you can actually call them and ask them where you can buy their stuff.

Next time, if you don't want a response that might hurt your feelings, be more specific:

"Guys, I Googled this schit but didn't find anything online very helpful. Has anybody ( who magically know exactly where I live in South Africa), walked into a booze shop and seen this stuff on a shelf, so that I may also walk in there and buy it, even though that means it would be one of my local shops so I would have seen it on their shelves anyway".

In THAT case I would have read your request and just ignored it and not actually tried to help in passing.

As you were.

PS> Crabbies is kak, anyway...

I like it and haven’t had it for years. Never seen it here either and seeing the Crabbies whisky made me think of it. Funny thing is I was thinking of it as an ingredient for a whisky mac cocktail and was actually confusing it with Stones ginger wine.

But hey, it was a throw away post without thinking too much. Maybe just scroll past next time. Acting like a smart arse on such a friendly group isn’t necessary.
