Have a look at your bottle to see if it is thick and creamy. I was in the liquor store the other day when people returned Amarula. Even the shop staff was seen shaking bottles and being confused with the watery version on the shelves. Something definitely went wrong in production.
Maybe they accidentally bought the Vanilla one lol :)
That one is ****.

Collection post Christmas...hic! Have a good one everyone.

Still got to ad a Knob Creek :)

I haven't had the Revival and Cameronbridge. From the others that I've tried I would rate them in that order as well, well maybe the Woodford after the ardbeg

I think it's purely because of how divisive peat can be, especially for those new/newer to whisky. Big Peat is unashamedly in your face with it - so I'm sure a peathead would love it.

I think I've made the leap from appreciating 'smooth' whisky to trying to find complexity in taste but I'm not quite ready for that. My sweet tooth is too strong

I keep not trying Glendronach 18...It's just something I never get to. Not tried the Cameronbridge but I rank the Big Peat Cape Town above Ardbeg 10 but I guess it depends on the Ardbeg 10 batch. :D. Not a huge fan of the A'Bunadh but only had a try of one batch so not a great measure :p.

Great line up but oh it's so hard to go from cask strength monsters to the rest, also the risk of palate fatigue :(. Really impressed that the Glendronach 15 could stand up against those beasts.

I'll be honest, I had hyped up the 18 in my mind that I think it fell a little flat for me. If you go in thinking the 15 will have developed from teenager to young adult, you might be disappointed. Taking it as its own dram (of course with that Glendronach flavour) made me appreciate it more. It's fantastic, but I think I'll probably be ordering the 15 again first... and not just because it's a lot cheaper :p:p

Speaking of Glendronach...

Bottle 25/644 from the Whisky Brother release. I finally got my hands on one! Thanks to @klessius for the smooth transaction and fantastic shipping price. I think he still has one left - don't hesitate to do business with him if you're interested.

It took me a couple of years to graduate to peat but we all eventually turn to the smoky side. I still tend towards the "sweet" whiskies but I do love peat as well(really enjoying the fudge pairing recently)

You should get yourself a bottle of Amrut Fusion(after lockdown) to satisfy the sweet tooth, you will not be disappointed.

I cannot wait to open these...but also trying to have less opens. They should last a few years inside the cannister though...stable temp and no light.

Ha! I knew I forgot to add a whisky to that list from my tasting. I have Amrut Fusion and I do really enjoy it. I like that the peat is used to accessorise the flavour and isn't the main, overly pronounced component.

To be fair, people chose to taste it for the novelty of it being "Indian" and everyone came away surprised by the quality. I guess that and the Uigeadal are the 'peat' whiskies I can tolerate right now and would gladly reach for.

You have a fantastic collection! It seems every other page you're stocking up and I'm jealous.

I'd love to know what you don't have/what is on the holy grail list at this point.

I can see your love of sherry coming through in your choices, big sherry and peat there's lots of good choices out there.

One of them is the 2019 Kilkerran 8 y/old CS.
2018 on the left, 2019 on the right

You forgot to mention the rather "Unicorn status" of those Whiskies... :crying:

Firstly my collection pale in comparison to @Luben , @BartSimpson to mention but a few on here. I've just been on a bit of a spree recently...

There are 1 000's of bottles I still want...too many to even mention.

I'm starting to delve into more "offbeat" stuff at the moment, with "Black Bull" and "Cortoisie" next on my list.

My biggest challenge is getting my hands on "Iron Root" and also travel retail "Smokehead" stuff...

What are everyone's favourite whiskey mixers? Mine is fanta orange - just cracked open a 20yr special edition to say f u to mamparra-phosa.
