Why do we have Affirmative Action?

Agree with you on this one:)

So the biggest problem in the end is that this entire system is undermining and demoralising everyone.

We've been given time to come up with an alternative, but it would seem that the government seems intent on patching up the broken bits with duct tape and pretending like they don't exist. Unfortunately the whole thing is coming undone, and I point to Eskom. As such AA cannot continue in the form that it has endured for so long as it is not a viable long term alternative.

I think its more important for the poor and underpriviledged black people out there to trust african management. I believe turning their lives around for the better matters more.

Yes. For your perpetually disadvantaged colour is the most important factor of all.
Sport, politics and business. Everything must be black. Whether it is best for the country carry no weight. Brake every thing down so that there is nothing left for nobody. Then you guys are happy.

SA Airways, Railways and Escom. Need more examples.

Thousands of job losses in the mines. Guess what colour is the majority of these that is going to add to the poor.

But don't worry:"its more important for the poor and underprivileged black people out there to trust African management."

These guys are really doing well.

Not even a fool will trust a failure:o

Again, if they really wanted everything to be black, they would have done so without asking you nicely.

It's actually pointless wasting one's time trying to fathom the depths of stupidity when faced with lowlife like the black aßhole who wrote the sentence above.

Agreed. People that continue to think like that are the biggest problem this country faces. So much for reconciliation, you're just playing the race card to better yourself and no one around you. There is no bounds to the selfishness of so many people, and this in sharp (and sad) reflection to the amount of selflessness by people of all colours between the years of 1948-1994.

Well, the aren't really asking. Its a thinnly disguised veil for the international community to force you out of business if you choose not to abide by their decisions.

Off topic: The last time i voted was to say :NO!

If that was the last time you voted, i guess you input in this discussion is pointless - and this i am sure everybody will agree on.

Correct. Shouldn't we be addressing the poverty problems by ensuring the utmost profitability of this country by keeping the best man for the job in the position. When the struggling millions have been helped maybe then we can look at the middle to upper class work segment and readdress imbalances?

Agreed. No vote, no voice. Don't complain if you aren't going to at least contribute to, at the very least, voting for what you believe to be correct.

All AA is doing is replacing the white middle class with a black middle class. All this while leaving the millions of destitute behind. AA is benifitting a small minority and as such should be scrapped in favour of uplifting those that would not even benefit from the legislation.

I think the gross miseducation here is that the poor perceive the fact that if a black man is given a job he will assist the black poor. This couldn't be further from the true. AA only drives individualistic amibitions without providing benefit to those that need it most!

Then we should also vote for the best man to lead.

I cannot see this man coming along soon.

This time though i will vote.

Whether your candidate wins or not, voting allows you to say that I did or did not choose this path. By not voting you are accepting the status quo and by abstaining you are essentially saying that you accept what the current leadership is doing.
