Winamp 5.5 Review

There is no doubt that if you are serious about your music collection, then Winamp 5.5 should be your music player. There is almost nothing that Winamp cannot do, and if there is, the very active Winamp community will develop an add-on for it.

i have been using winamp as long as there was winamp,Every pc i ever used i always installed winamp and made it my default player for music only.
Video files is another story.

winamp is the best :)

used it since it was first released

i use wmp for video

what does this amarok do that winamp does not?

The new Winamp is really cool, I love it :p ;) :D

amarok is Linux/Unix

As someone memorably said, "In other news, the sky is blue." :D

Winamp is a fantastic product. Global hotkeys, media library and all the other features on offer make it great to use. Certainly my player of choice.

But yeah, not for video files.

If I have to use windows and I'm in the mood for music, I simply use Media Player classic. Does the same job and use less resources

Winamp should stick to playing music I find thier Video support a little lacking.

BTW do they still have the Lite Version, good for low end PC's or Media PC's with slow specs but Huge HDD's :D

On *nix you can't beat Amarok. Can't wait for a stable windows port.
Currently I'm using foobar2000 in windows. Freakin' awesome as well.

Does MPC even have a library? Or any other more advanced features, album art, lyrics etc?

I only ever use MPC for videos.

There are so many media players these days, suppose you just choose one and stick with it :) Winamp for tunes & Zoom player for everything els!

replace the C with a U and you get MPU! our favourite AI satellite control program from Jamming With Edward! :D

Another Foobar2000 user here :D

I last used Winamp when it was v5.0x, might give it another try one day.
