Your Favourite Open Source Software?

Obisidian - a tool for organising and linking notes. Links auto-generate nodes, creates interactive maps of knowledge. It's basiscally a software implimentation of the Zettelkasten method.

Brilliant tool for keeping track of what you know (i.e., not forgetting what you do know over time), research and writing books (fiction and non-ficition) preparing scientific papers / theses / dissertations etc.

hot take side note imo Zettelkasten should be taught in 3rd year BScs when everyone does computer science. The time it saves is insane

A 'simple' setup example guide:

EDIT: oh yeah it is cross platform (pc, mac, ios, android, linux) , and can run from a onedrive or similar so there is auto-sync between multiple devices
Thanks. I know Obsidian is a popular tool and very powerful but it isn't Open Source/FOSS so I can't add it to the list.

I agree Zettlekasten is cool (and I like the word!) but I had trouble getting started with it. I tried Zettlr briefly for a note taking app but I've settled on Logseq for now.

Just discovered CloudPanel whilst looking for a cPanel alternative.

Very minimalist and simple to use. Can also replace my HAProxy setup now because that was just way too complicated to operate.
Looks great and easy to use. Going to try it on my next project for sure

Thanks. I'm not sure that it's open source though - I can't find any source code (they do have a Github but no source), reference to license or any mention of it being open source rather than free (no cost)

These videos on IT-Tools and PasswordPusher caught my attention. IT-Tools took a few minutes to set up in Dockge in my Homelab

My bad, thought it was because it was noted on the article where I stumbled upon it and assuming they have a github would mean their code is available but ya not open source but free alternative to cPanel

Free, Secure, and Open-Source Backup for Microsoft 365

Thanks. We already have this one on the list but I'll check it out again. It looks like they might have done some active work on it since I last looked.
