Zest T1

Well, this morning I got a nice surprise. Before bed last night, I closed all my apps, disconnected the wifi, and disabled the second SIM, checking the battery to see it's on 60% before setting my alarm for this morning. Woke up half an hour late, no alarm, check my phone to see it's dead. Alright, no problem, I'll just charge it. Nope. Doesn't charge at all. Tried a different charger, not so much as a light. Plugging it into my PC kept playing the Device Connected and Disconnected alert over and over and over. Took the battery out and tried again, Device Connected alert, Disconnected, then nothing. My phone's died with a lot of battery life left before, but I've never had problems charging it before. You guys think it's the battery or the phone?

how can i get a new battery for this. the original one on mine can fall to zero at any time.

Looking at my issues, it seems that the firmware is horrible at estimating the battery's state... Actually charging the battery outside the phone might be an interesting experiment..

Anyone know where to find the settings for the proximity sensor...my face keeps cutting calls :erm:

als_ps calibration?
Settings -> Display -> als_ps calibration

If that is even hat it is.
I also had this problem until I daftly realised the flip cover has an opening for the speaker so I just close it when talking on the phone. :D

A potato would last longer than this battery, don't even bother playing games on here the battery will be dead within an hour :(
Start charging at 55%, finished within 30mins. Phone goes from 50% - 0 in about 15mins.

The phone mainly seems to suck at measuring the battery... If they can fix that, it might actually get somewhat useable battery life...

I've had it die, charged it powered off to "100%", switch it on, with it showing 50%, charge it again to 100%, then it might last for a while...

I've also had it die with the non-booting charge screen then showing 87% immediately when plugging it in, and keeping that when powering it on...

Have you tried this?
OK I got some feedback from our Zesty overlord.
It appears the battery problems are due to calibration errors.
These are the instructions they gave me to recalibrate the battery:

This happened due to the battery not being calibrated properly after flashing the firmware which is normally done in the factory. Simply remove the battery for a minute and shake it (this moves the lithium around the battery to maximize battery cycles), then pop it back in and charge it fully while it is off. Once fully charged turn the phone on and drain the battery through normal use until it reaches 15% then charge it fully while the phone is on. Drain it again to 15% and charge it fully. This should re-calibrate the battery for you and maximize each battery cycle

I have done the first part of it. Just need to wear drain it to 15% now.

Hopefully this might improve battery life as well

My battery has died? How do I confirm this and not the phone. Is there a place I can get a test battery to confirm the phone hasn't died on me as AFAIK without a battery I can't even turn the phone on

My battery died last night. Thought I would just charge it this morning. However this morning the phone won't even go on.

These guys were supposed to launch a higher spec'd phone, the Accelerate. Wonder what ever happened to that.
