On the subject of batteries. I clearly don't classify as a light-moderate user. Is there anything in the pipeline regarding greater capacity batteries?
 
I'm not entirely sure what to do. Do i wait for zest to reply or do i speak to afrihost? An afrihost courier phoned me yesterday and i said it was no longer necessary because i was under the impression that zest would help me. Seems to be a ton of miscommunication

Now I don't see how rooting can be perceived as a modification. If anybody can argue that it is, then any app downloaded should also be. I scene a legal battle.

A fundamental change to the operating system or modification bypassing or altering firmware (not officially sanctioned or endorsed by the manufacturer) would essentially void the warranty.

I think best to deal with us, becuase if we've despatched a courier then we have a tested replacement unit for you. It will end up with Zest in the end anyway for them to test and refurbish.

In which case i would like to arrange a replacement. Will i need to return the simcard? And should i pm you?
 
Just now zest replies and a courier phones me again:/don't want to waste people's time. I think i'll hold on it till tomorrow and see if they reply. Will be in touch should they not reply

So glad to hear it, this is easily the most frustrating thing about an otherwise great phone - especially when a repartition could easily fix it. I've only installed 40% of the apps I usually do, and even after moving everything to phone storage that can be moved, I can't install any more apps...
 
Anyone else having issues with the proximity sensor, for turning off the screen when phone is against your ear on a call.

Mine turns the screen off and then on again continually even when I've got my finger held still against it. Most annoying as the phone then tends to do other things when I'm on a call.

Did you calibrate it correctly? There's a setting for that in the display menu- Als_ps calibration
I had the same issue until I properly calibrated the sensor. I found it best to put it down on the desk with nothing in front of the sensor for step 1, then use an object or even your finger to cover/touch it, and for the last step, move object/finger away from sensor as stated.
 
Got the phone for a day ago and managed to personalise it a bit, but I can't seem to get the following:

-How does one change the home screen to something personal? the only option that it gives me is to change it to the standard wallpapers.
-How do I increase the partition to install more apps? There are so many 1GB+ games that this phone can handle, but has no space for.
-Do gestures work? If so how? The option under settings-Gesture sensing doesn't seem to help much.
-How do I stop my apps that are installed on the phone memory from the home-screen disappearing when the phone is rebooted?
-How do I change my default screen (after pressing the Home button) from been the extreme left screen? I want my default to be the middle screen so that I can see the best of my wallpaper.
-How do I switch the vibrate on touch off and still have the vibrate ("hepatic feedback" on older android versions) on for when I enter my patten unlock?

Change the android layout a bit from the conventional and I am lost :confused:. Can anybody help with the above?

I'm sure the above can be fixed easily. Once it is this, phone could get a healthy 8/10 with no doubts.

To stop the home screen icons disappearing, use the default launcher, not the Google Now one...

I'd also like to know how to get the middle home screen as the default...

Install Nova launcher from the Google play store. Will solve your issues with the customization.
 
lol, first thing I did was install Nova Prime, do that with all my droids, s2, s4, asus transformer, previous desire hd. Best to have a familiar interface.

I biggest gripe with the phone is the touch sensitivity, especially on small things like -for desktop sites that dont scale well (our company's cms site for e.g. The buttons are small and I can usually press for a response on the s2/s4, but the zest I have to zoom in and then press around until the button responds, same with installs from google play, the install button is sometimes hard to 'press'
 
Does anyone know of a mainstream phone with similar screen dimensions? I really want to see if I can find a suitable tempered glass screen protector. Since switching I cant use normal plastic sp's anymore
