Positive SEACOM feedback welcomed

Well to be honest, it is not Seacom's fault that prices have not yet come down. They are a cable company, not a magic shop.

I lay the blame with the Government and the monopolistic local telecomms industry.

It will take time, and a few things are indeed happening behind the scenes. The cable has already had an impact and it will continue to shake things up - just not as fast as some people expected.

Looks like its going to take till October till the ISP's get a piece of the action... I don't think that its anyones fault, that is just how long its going to take.

Well, I saw a screenshot of someone at Stellenbosch Uni doing 15megaBYTES per second down and 10megaBYTES per second up.

TENET seems to be flying....

An entire article with no actual new news based on one sentence from SEACOM? That just wasted precious cap...

Here is my feedback:
September is a few days away and I'm still paying the same for my few gigs a month. Seacom has had no impact on my ADSL quality or pricing.

Another dumb article.

After a few articles appeared on MyBroadband about the pricing on Seacom being the same and only cheap when you buy over a 20 yr contract, now all of sudden its going to be filtering through reduced prices?

So which one is it?

Prices will become cheaper by going up and we will have have it real soon in 2 years.

They are still testing stuff. Wait till october. Hopefully 8mbit and new seacom products for us by then. I dream of unlimited local again

So has anybody else heard the rumour that SEACOM prices haven't filtered down yet? I can't find an article about this anywhere on the net.

Dude, how the heck is Seacom gona change local caps? That is up to uncle telscum, not Seacom.

October is gona be a very sad month. Everyone will get their hopes up. Nothing will happen.

It WILL by November. December. It MUST happen in the first half of 2010, before the soccer! Just after the soccer there is bandwidth available now. It must be here soon. 2010 is almost over. It must be soon. Almost there. Just one more month. Almost. It will happen by 2020. 2030 is the year. This is when it will happen. Almost there. Imminent. Almost there... Just one more month. Everyone is working on new products. Stay tuned. We will get there. I must happen before we die. Almost there.

...

Too late...

Well, since the launch of Seacom my Vodacom HSDPA has actually been worse; and by the sounds of it I can speak for most. I used to get between 1.2mbps and 2.0mbps, now I am getting a few hundred kbps.

And guess what...I am paying the same R389 for 2GB. But it's not Seacom's fault, its Vodacom's. Maybe I can sell by COD 4 to someone now and make money, 'cause I can't use it anymore.
