Ok well so far my experience has been a bleak one.

Firstly i didnt know about the over usage going into next month so on the first i was capped. So i thought, ok fine ill just let it go ill know from next month.

so now i decide to add a top up, of 1 gig cause i need int BW. And i get an e-mail saying i have used up all my alloted Bandwidth of 3 gigs now.

so basically i just paid them to tell me that i used 1 gig !! how can topup be included in what i used over !!

i might aswell have taking my money and thrown it out the window while i drive, actually no, that might have benefited someone.

If this is how this is going i don't know how anyone can recommend this company but all i know is i've never experienced this type of cr@p with any other ISP.

hopefully they can sort this out or something, else i might as well cancel.

Did you not get a email or sms saying how much you already used of your allowed cap.

So your main complaint is you had to pay for what you used?

e-mail after i topped up :/

oh my greatness gotta love the holier than thou types, but yes my complaint is that i wasnt told about it, then they take my top up away. Other people complained about the overusage rolling over but i thought fair enough i used it they can take it away. But a top up ? on the 17th from what i used sometime last month ?

I fail to see the issue? You overspent and need to pay back first before you can go all ape again? Sounds relatively fair to me.

Terms and conditions spring to mind.

can any ISP using either SAIX or IS monitor usage live (per MB) or are resets required?

if only resets, then i suppose it's a balance between regular resets and being billed for over-usage (or it being deducted)

I would hope that an ISP would give some indication once one is near or over your cap... webafrica was fairly good with that

I remember being SMSed by Afrihost when I was near my limit.

In any case, you agreed to the T&cs stating that any overused bandwidth would be deducted so ya..

Go ahead and cancel...and pay more elsewhere.

We are all enjoying this special and I don't see why the rest of us should subsidise your overuse if it were not the case that this overused amount is carried forward.

I also cannot see what "crap" you have actually experienced!?!? You got charged for what you used!

So your main complaint is you had to pay for what you used?

Totally with you on this one!

i know its off topic but i got 2gb Afrihost package.... do the gigs carry over or are they reset on the 1st

sigh as i thought. South African attitudes, oh well. just saying they might be cheap, but there's no way they can even play with the guys like WA and Axxess.

They seem more like Cybersmart.

I think they're on par with WA if not better...both pricewise and servicewise.

I don't know about WA, but at Axxess if you have a 2 gig account and use 2.5 gigs and then top up with 1 gig, then you only have .5 gig left

Ha ha ha well rather our South African attitude than yours which seems to think it is acceptable to use something and then not pay for it!!

Nothing wrong with Cybersmart I'll have you know...

Anyway as from tomorrow Afrihost special offer expires so sign up now!!!! You snooze you lose..

saying they on par is like saying that the golf GTi can keep up with a Lambo :P

ya cause i stole there BW, cause they dont get hourly updates ;) Amazing if this was Telkom you people would all be having a big fuss, because its like your beloved ISP its ok.

Nice sweeping generalisation there... by "you" I hope you don't mean everyone that has responded to you as you will find it difficult to find a post on this forum where I have criticised Telkom....
