Just in case you didn't hear/read or see. Gigabyte is giving away their yet to be officially released GA-X48T-DQ6 motherboard (will probably resell for about R4.5K) and a special edition Custom PCB 8800GT graphics card to anyone who can get the quickest SuperPi 1M time Under 3.6GHz. So you don't have to worry about ubber cooling and fancy pants hardware...

Sounds easy, yes it is that easy...
Only condition is you have to be using a gigabyte board to enter. Any gigabyte board will do, beg borrow or get creative but get a Gigabyte board and start clocking.

2nd Prize is the nifty X38-DS5 and a 8600GT graphics card.
A lucky draw prize will be a P35-DS3P motherboard.
Competition ends Friday so you only have a couple of days.

Super Pi I completely suck at nor do I have the patience to be good at it. I would though love to win the prizes, just a heads up... :)

Yes that's because the board does actually rawk. Seriously, you know how upgrading from say a 965 to an X38 board gives 2 frames/sec faster in games which is not anything really...
Well with X48 since its the last Chipset that will use an FSB, it really is the best of what the current FSB system can offer. I had been using an X38 based board for some time, changing to the X48 gave me a huge bump in scores and obviously in game performance.

How does 27K in 3DMark05 sound to you with a graphics card on air and 18K in 3DM06?

Now we are talking. Thing is some do not know the difference between quality + added value and the rest. They will suffer to save a few bob just like the pommies will do.

Eh wtf at like 14x1 the pommies wont suffer for anything with the exchange rate and eh quality - gigabyte make awesome boards stop being an asus fanboi and give us some basis to your opinion.

Dfi or asus generally oc better than gigabyte boards. But there's nothing wrong with gigabyte boards they are still excellent in most cases.
 
Well if you'll didn't know, Gigabyte is changing and I know it first hand.
The X48 I'm using pile drives any Asus I've ever used and I've been through many of them...
Nobody else will give you 12-phase power, rock solid voltages and enough juice to commit suicide than on these later GB boards. Asus makes top brass boards as we all know but its not a single horse race...
Give it a little less than a month and every single record in the country will be on a Gigabyte board, probably this very one you can win :P
