I'm planning on starting my own business, registering a CC and registering with the major suppliers in SA.

Who are the guys worth going with for price/availability/prduct range/technology?

Rectron, maybe Sahara? Don't know whether you need to be registered to buy from them, though... Doubt it. :)

You need to register with both of them to buy and I think last time I heard from Rectron is if you don't buy from them every 60 days they will close your account.
There are other suppliers such as Corex, Axiz, FrontoSA, Drive Control Corp to name a few. And suppliers who claims to sell direct to public at wholesale prices: cyberdyne, PC international.....

W00t, just checked my friend's acc with Sahara is still active.....

well in jhb

list by how good they are

frontosa
axiz
tarsus (amazing pricing on laptops)
rectron/corex
sahara
esquire if you really have no choice

beanie u need to be registered with just about all the massive pc companies

you also need a registered CC or they wont accept you

I heard that Esquire in Cape Town busy opening a Xpress Stores like the one in JHB, I been to the one in JHb when i was there to visit my folks over the December Holidays , I was really suprised that is was so quick and easy to get a DVD writer for my brother, I did however have a bit a issue as i did not have an "Xpress card" as they called it but a nice looking lady came and help me and I got my stuff in about two minutes and left
I also never knew thay were such a huge company as i am always acustom to the small place in Cape Town. I can't wait for them to open as according to this nice lady ( which i 4got her name) told me will be open in February 2008It looks like Esquire is finally doing some right in the Cape.

Rectron does have a pretty snazzy building in Midrand. I must say it feels like a damn airport! :)

i read somewhere on itweb that rectron's busy moving back to the old premises where Corex is currently operating from sometime in February also they closing down Corex and merging it with Rectron, so it is back to the old pull your ticket sytem. looks like they downscaling back to basics. I have,nt been to the new building but i heard from my brother in JHB that is it huge and you can get lost ,

Esquire Xpress Store -Cape Town

Esquire used to be an energetic little shop(in Cape Town), now it is a real dump, it gives the impression of utter incompetence with a failed DIY feel to it. I don't like buying there anymore.
I went to the re-opening of the New Esquire Xpress Cape this morning ,and was surprised to see how many resellers were there waiting for the doors to open , when the doors opened I was in for a huge surprised as the place has been totally revamped and actually looks really pleasant to shop and browse, it is not the same as the one in JHB which I visted in December when I went up to Gauteng to visited my folks but I like the idea that I can see the products I want to buy before I pay for it , what was also nice to see was that Stunning beauty from JHB that helped me when I was at her branch and could not remember her name , I took the courage to ask her name again today and it is Nikki -She was here for the opening with a whole team from HeadOffice -According to her they going to opened up more Xpress stores in all the Esquire branches across South Africa -
