so when the cut happens what do you guys do ?

this quiet annoying after the initial phsycing up and then load to end up in a nice load shed.

-i dare not play with my permanent characters in normal waking hours.

I have resorted to not turning on my pc till after the scheduled load crap for the day is over. I turn my machine on in the morning to check emails but then after did I did it off till the idiots are finished with ruining my day.:(

if u guys get any feedback on those generators send me a PM plz :P

I've noticed most of Cape Towns cut outs are at 12:00 - 2:00 so I save my game at 11:45

awww shaaaaame 'fubaring my gaming' - never mind business going bankrupt, people dying in hospitals, and education systems disrupted. And it isn't winter yet.

I don't think they are trivialising the above.
Just voicing one more objection to our monopolists actions.

Im a sparky and use Generators for work where I dont have access to electricity. You can get some gens between 4-6k and support about 20 or more amps with 20 litres of petrol to keep you going for hours :)

If you check the Faq they have on the eskom site you will find they do not impose cuts on the vital operationsssss ie hospitals

Doesn't matter what Eskom says the hospitals can't operate with these loadshedding's. My dad works at quite a few here in PTA and it's a nightmare. They can only do the emergency operations because they aren't allowed to do routine operations on generator power. They can do emergency operations but those don't make out the majority of the operations. They are currently loosing lots of money through this.

i have heard the exact same story from a neuro-surgeon friend.

Load shedding normally affects my area between 10 - 12 in the morning. This is fubaring my computer classes bigtime. And it isn't just a simple matter of rescheduling the whole school's periods around the power cuts.

Lol, I can see the following happening for a few years :

RPG Gamer : Dungeons and Dragons evenings again.
Strategy: Warhammer evenings
FPS: There's always paintball and the old pellet guns
Racing: RC cars?

I can't think of the others right now.

I'll post here for everyone to see. R2,999, 2,500W with AVR (no clue about the grid, only running a few things off it :D)
