If so, what week? Which firmware?

Any problems/caveats I should know of?

Never used them personally. How are their prices?

Very reasonable. R3850 for the 16GB model.

I've gone ahead and ordered, along with a case and a pair of Sennheiser CX300's. Kind of excited over here. Should have it by Thursday. :D

Seeing as they're waiting for stock, thus I'm going to be kept waiting for a bit more....let me rephrase my question. Has anybody here recently bough a Touch?

Any of the myriad reported problems out there? Negative blacks? Dead/stuck pixels? Touch screen losing responsiveness?

I'm just curious. I mean, I did just spend a potload of money. :D

My iPhone has a stuck pixel, it occurred about 4 days after using the phone, the multi touch screen is really sensitive and responsive never had any problems with it so far.

do some searches on the net. I saw a stress test on an iphone on the net and that passed with flying colours.

they dropped the phone from varying heights on varying surfaces including cement and a side walk.

I was very impressed by the outcome.

my only issue with the ipod touch (as i am assuming you reffering more to that then the iphone) is that it has very little space. I personally see myself getting their 160Gb ipod soon as my 80Gb is running out of space fast.

Have you tried this? A lot of users have had success with it. :)

Yeah, but you have to remember that the iPhone is Apple's pride and joy (read: cash cow). I'd think that the QA is a bit higher on it than with the Touch. However, Apple's vision for the Touch seems to have shifted from Music Player to "WiFi Mobile Platform". This is probably a good thing.

As for the space, I'm very picky of what I listen to (I have less than 30 gigs of music), so the 16 gig model should be just right for me. I'm going to hold out on Jailbreaking to see what the upcoming SDK has in store, but as I'm getting "fresh" stock it'll hopefully have the new apps included.

Here's to hoping I get a flawless unit (touch wood).
