Ok, I'm wanting to play some other multiplayer FPS, cs is getting old, but don't know what to get.

It's sort of a toss up between CoD4 and TF2. I can't make up my mind.
CoD4 sounds like it could be cool. Wanted to test it out first but I can't get the "not so legal' version I got off newshost to work. Although I've always enjoyed the earlier CoD's.

I haven't even played the first TF so I don't know if it will be my cup of tea and I don't want to fork over the cash, download form steam and find I hate it.

So whats the longevity of each game? in your guys opinions. Is CoD4 totally different to other CoDs? Is it just a BF2 clone or better? (never really got into BF2 - BF 1942 ftw)
Can't really afford to make a mistake as you can't return games you don't like and I don't have huge amounts of cash to burn.

COD4 is alot faster and IMO better than BF2... you should enjoy it.

Single player is quick to finish but still very good.
The games success is the multiplayer and that rocks!

I own the orange box but never played TF2 but I hear its good, as well as portal.

Get either or, they both good buys!

yeah that's my predicament, they both sound like great games but I can only afford one at the moment :(. I'm mainly looking for some multi player death dealing so the shortness of single player doesn't bother me.
I must say I am leaning towards CoD4. I see take2 has it for R270 (out of stock though), anywhere else that I might look? I'm in Cape Town, any brick & mortar shops that have it for a good price?

Try X DVD & Games in Stadium on Main in Claremont, they'll prob have COD4 for R180 or something (2nd hand) and orange box ± same price.

I bought the last copy from Look and Listen Canal Walk, (which was a cancelled order), prior to that couldn't find any copies in any shop in Canal Walk, Waterfront, Tygervalley or N1 City.
Never tried Cavendish or Blue Route, seems it is rather popular, and according to most shops I asked, suppliers are only resupplying end of this month - maybe.

2nd hand doesn't bother me, as long as I'll still be able to connected to the servers with it. How does that work? if someone has already connected to a server with it will I still be able to?

I'm sure if that person who sold his copy to X DVD etc wouldn't be using the key, if he does and you get banned, just e-mail SGS and speak to them about banning the user who is using the CD key... they'll request proof which you can supply, the other oke won't be able too.

cool, well I managed to get my "test" copy working over lunch (Nice working 5min from home) It was a problem with that additional file that the good people at Razor 1911 supply with their backups of the game ;)

Just played the training but it looks grand i say. Works well on my pc, so hopefully I'll be accepting your bullets on the servers in the next couple of days :D
better test it some more though just to see if I really dig it.
