ANC chose guns over power

Guns? Well ok they brought guns and preddy little toys that go bang; but what they chose was all together different. They lined their pockets with kickbacks.

Helen's 100% correct.

The kickbacks in the arms industry are known to be higher than any other.

Looking at the public record of those involved, this was a no-brainer choice. Come to think of it I cannot think of a better set of brainless induhviduals.

read that last night and as much as i respect Helen Zille for fighting the fight all she is doing is moaning and offering no real solutions.

problem is the energy crisis is here on us.
I don't agree with the 'no crying over spilt milk' argument. It only benefits the party that stuffed up. Taking it further, would we say don't put someone in jail because they won't do it again and there is no point?

We MUST review the situation we are in.
We MUST debate it so that the lessons can be learnt.

we all know government is going to get away with it and as usual the its the people of the country who suffer.

As long as her moaning is heard by the masses and foreign investors her objective will be achieved. How bad does it need to be before you start moaning?

myself moaning serves no purpose, or is a waste of energy (no pun intended). i would rather put time and energy into either leaving this continent or making money on this continent.

i will leave the moaning to the politicians and armchair politicians, because compared to our electricity, there is no shortage of those. :D

It gets the ball rolling? United we stand divided we fall.

Cape Town - If government had chosen to spend billions of rands on new power stations instead of armaments in the 1990s, South Africa would not now be facing an electricity crisis, DA leader Helen Zille said on Friday.

Helen Zille, a very fine person in my opinion, someone who fought so hard for a democracy and the ANC in the old days. What a tragedy it must be for her to see how things are panning out in SA. I bet this woman will be leaving the country pretty soon like everybody else, after all SA is not a place for smart good people.

Jacob Zuma, Electricity crisis, out of control crime, rising interest rates, public health crisis, aids crisis.... I am just amazed right now at how the country is accelerating so rapidly into a disaster. Or am i just being negative?

Yes - HOWEVER, the sewage crisis, water crisis, transport crisis, fuel crisis, education crisis etc are not yet full blown.

we all know government is going to get away with it and as usual the its the people of the country who suffer.

Well, the voters wanted this - obviously.

Not quite wanted it, just plain old school intimidation and patriotism.
Non european people stand together (as a brotherhood) to prove a point, no matter how ***** the outcome. Refer the main Cosatu slogan - "an injury to one is an injury to all"
It's always a case of bullsh1t baffles brains, promises and pre-election "mooi praatjies" which means stuff all, except that more pockets will be lined.

Ignorance is no longer an excuse.
In the first election, it could be so claimed, in the second not so much.
By now, it is obvious to anyone with an IQ over 50 that the ANC is a parasite.

I think what NR means is that they stand together no matter what. Even if I was a parasite, my brother with a 130 IQ would stand by me just because we're the same colour.
Besides, only a small minority have a 50+ IQ anyway...

agreed but I've said this before and I'll say it again. Unless there is a viable alternative come 2009 the masses will vote ANC once again, IFP, DA, UDM and KISS simply are not a captivating alternative for the average South African...

That is indeed sad. Anyone who would willingly vote for corruption, poverty and economic ruin, does - quite frankly - not deserve a vote.
