"If they continue to offer the service, Icasa has a variety of options, including sealing their equipment and submitting an application for a court interdict to stop such illegal activity," the regulator said. This means that Icasa could also block Free2View's satellite link or signal.
ICASA are quite simply, idiots. What have they contributed to this country since their inception, I would love to know?
Would that be the British, German, French or South African courts? If Free2View continued operating, Icasa could approach the court for an interdict to stop its operations.
ICASA moves very slowly when it comes to sorting out the competition issues, problems with SABC, DSTV sound problems, complaints etc ... yet within 24hrs of Free2View's statement they already decided to 'block' the signal.... amazing!
I did not know that ICASA had a space program. Fire up that ICASA spaceship and go zop the satellite![]()
How is ICASA dealing with IPtv operators like Joost who currently provide free TV?
