Stage 2 AND the mines and industry are shorted

How on earth can we be on Stage 2 (as at 09:00 on 31 Jan 2008), with the mines and heavy industry "curtailed" as well?

Maybe someone can enlighten me.

If they go back to 9.5 hours of power cuts in a day again because of the mines going from 80% to 90% then they are really brain dead. That will almost certainly mess up the businesses completely.

They are going to.
They are going to play this game for months still.
One week business, one week mines.
That way, no one "business" can afford to lay off staff, because then they will be "short handed" when it is their week "on".

Good plan, huh?
 
I have a better plan. Shut down the Smelters for a month and take the penalties. That way, both the mines and businesses can stay open.

Wait, sorry, I forgot. That will adversely effect management bonuses as there bonuses are based of Eskoms monetary returns and not their uptime.

How much loadshedding are we giving to Mozambique? Botswana?

Every kilo of product from that smelter comes at the cost of jobs in SA.

Two of the smelters are here. I am not sure of the technical implications of shutting them down but it can't be as bad as the billions that we are losing because of business and the mines being cut.

What really grates me with all of this is the total lack of responsibility from all of the idiots who caused this. They keep saying, lets look forward. Maybe I should go a rob a bank and when the judge asks if I have anything to say, I will just say "lets look forward". There has to be accountability.

They're planning to build more smelters too, its totally ridiculous. There's no accountability at all, they just don't care and nobody's making them care.
 
AAAAHH! FFS! The schedule times are not even fscking correct! We have been loadshedded according to Mon/Wed/Fri - except it is Thursday you fscking r'tards!

I don't think they even have a clue what they're doing, damn I hate Eskom.
 
The sad thing is this whole Eskom fiasco just makes Telkom look good. At least we have someone new to complain about.
