With its 426kW and 650Nm just waiting to scare the hell out of Mercedes and BMW I guess Audi does have reason to be proud - their latest Avant also happens to be the most powerful production vehicle yet to bear the four-ring emblem.

What will these Germans think of next.

...so the major decision to be made is simply how windgat you're feeling after turning that key.

Both very impressive, but honestly I am more intrigued and interested in the Avant.

A station wagon that could blitz almost anything else on the road is something to behold.

Finally a way to tow a caravan at a decent speed ;)

Record is held by a South African.

Mercedes Benz S600 driven by South African Eugene Herbert reached 223,881km/h towing a standard caravan at Hoedspruit Air Force Base in October 2003.

Unfortunately its still a station wagon. Maybe if they took the wood paneling off the sides it could go even faster?

Dude I did the Audi High Speed driving course and they had A4 saloons and station wagons. There is hardly a noticable difference in driving dynamics. My best laptime of the day was in a wagon and not the saloon.

Who's talking about driving dynamics? It still looks like a station wagon.

So true.

I would not be caught dead driving a station wagon, regardless of how fast they make it.:)
