Eskom cut off by NIA

lol well atleast after they got rid of all the white engineers during the early nineties they have a fully transformed company viva. Who cares about electricity in africa anyway?
 
LOL, we dont need foreign saboteurs to mess things up. Local management at ESKOM is doing it themselves.
 
So very funny after the VISA story.
SA is allowing terrorists to get into the UK using fake SA passports issued by HA, but the NIA prevents engineers from working here.

I'm agree with the NIA. In the grand scheme of things what they say makes sense if you think about it and the public shouldnt attack but should actually see that the NIA is thinking in terms of national security. Its never good enough for South Africans, all we do is complain.

Besides whats a foreign brain got that a local brain doesn't. The problem with South Africa is that we under rate ourselves and we are all too tied up with baggage over race etc. There are plenty of good engineers and engineers in training here in SA. All we have to do is look within our own borders. We should also send people on training courses over seas to learn from what is known over there.

The problem at the moment is that Eskom has too many people who are being paid highly to do basically nothing all day and they are just there for the paycheck. There are plenty of people out there who are passionate about engineering and all Eskom needs to do is gear up their recruitment towards people who have a passion and then we will see the problem sorting itself out. simple

The NIA probably dragged their heels for years though.
Our engineers are leaving the country because they feel they are not wanted or have a better future elsewhere.
And the problem with Eskom is they cannot see past race.

So, yes - we have engineers - but cannot hold onto them. We do underrate ourselves - but that is hardly surprising considering the mess this country is in. And, "we" that underrate ourselves are the vast minority - the majority have not a clue.

Plenty. Overseas engineers have what no remaining SA engineers have. Experience. Engineers in training I'm afraid ain't worth diddly until they have 10-20 years experience under their belts. They too will emigrate to gain this experience because they can't get it in SA. Whether they will return is open to debate.

When the AA laws were passed and blood was (and still is being) spilled experienced engineers left SA and they won't come back. Those that didn't emigrate retired. The institutional memory is gone. What took 100 years to build up is gone. The only way to recover is to import these skills at the going international rate and that rate isn't R50,000 per month it's 3 to 4 times that. The NIA isn't helping matters, nor is home affairs.

The engineers are not going to come so quickly . They had settled in their new place . Their children are going to schools , universities in the new place. Do you really thing that they will come back to the country which kicked them out before ? and for what ? to come to a declining country with no hope.
 
Not having any juice is also a threat to national security.
