Ok iam sorry to burst your bubble . but here goes ....
-Online gamming issues are the lest of there concerns , business protocols like http , pop , smtp and various vpn protocols are of more importance.
- Also the email is abit on the rude / aggressive side.Ive noticed that if u address them with respect , they will be more willing to help.Believe me it works.Even if they dont have a clue what dungeons and dragons are at least try work with them to get the issue resolved.
- if u read the FAQ on the website , u would know it states that certain protocols receive higher priority on the network. And we all know that gamming will be right at the bottom.I feel your pain as i get high latency when playing on overseas servers ( +- 2500ms )
Yes You are 100% correct , unknown TCP and UDP ports get lower priority , like Torrent servers , LimeWire and so forth there QOS policies @ Iburst in there Routers allow only for (small) amount of throughtput.
Gaming servers are not on the priority list.
The reason why Vodacom Works is they have enought bandwidth to the internet backbone , over 700Mbits/s and is all 1/1 ratio.
